Description Location: UCHealth Anschutz Inpatient Pavilion, Aurora, CO Department: Pharmacy Inpatient Work Schedule: PRN, 0.00 hours per pay period (2 weeks), No guaranteed days or hours Shift: Day and Evening Rotation Pay: $19.67 - $25.57 / hour. Pay is dependent on applicant's relevant experience This position is an onsite role and does not offer a hybrid or remote option Summary: The UCHealth University of Colorado Hospital Inpatient Pharmacy Intern Program is a progressive three-year experience (P2-P4) designed to build foundational operational skills and transition interns toward advanced clinical responsibilities as they progress through the program. Early program years focus on central inpatient operations, including participation in technician workflows and medication distribution activities, while later years expand to higher-level clinical responsibilities such as pharmacokinetic monitoring, medication reconciliation review, anticoagulation and renal dose assessments, and direct collaboration with pharmacists and interprofessional teams. As an inpatient intern, you will also participate in our Intern Mentorship Program, rotating to a new pharmacist mentor each semester. This structured rotation provides opportunities to build strong professional relationships, broaden clinical exposure, and network with our extraordinary pharmacist staff. Requirements: • Enrolled in an accredited school of pharmacy and in good standing., • Fulfill technician shift responsibilities in central inpatient operations, including medication fulfillment, delivery, and inventory support., • Perform select pharmacist duties under the supervision of a precepting pharmacist., • Communicate with physicians, pharmacists, nurses, and other clinicians to support safe and effective care., • Provide drug information and medication education to patients., • Participate in transitions of care medication history clarification and patient-owned medication verification processes., • Review and assess medication orders to identify potential and actual drug-related problems., • Conduct pharmacokinetic monitoring for vancomycin and aminoglycosides, including flowsheet completion, note drafting, dose recommendations, and follow-up., • Complete anticoagulation assessments, including anticoagulation review, VTE prophylaxis status evaluations, warfarin daily reviews and consults, and LMWH anti-Xa monitoring., • Perform renal dosing reviews for changes in serum creatinine or creatinine clearance, with documentation and communication of recommendations., • Execute provisional order verification (P4 only) under pharmacist supervision.
