Job Description Position Summary Reporting to the VP of IT, Security, and Compliance, the Systems Administrator is responsible for managing and maintaining the organization’s IT infrastructure, ensuring the availability, security, and performance of all systems, networks, and applications. This role involves configuring and troubleshooting hardware and software, overseeing user access and security controls, managing IT assets, and ensuring compliance with company policies and industry standards. The IT Administrator also provides technical support to end users, collaborates with vendors, and assists in IT project implementation. Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently are essential for success in this role. 2 Main Functions: (A) Support & Routine Operations, i.e. building and maintaining system infrastructure that responds to helpdesk support tickets from other employees, user account management, and related tasks. (B) Strategic Initiatives, i.e., working on projects to improve enterprise internal support, IT, and Information Security systems based on business demand. Working Conditions: Regular office/hybrid environment. Essential Duties and Responsibilities · Assist in managing and maintaining servers, workstations, and IT infrastructure. · Perform routine system updates, patches, and backups. · Monitor system performance and assist in troubleshooting basic technical issues. · Help manage network devices, including firewalls, routers, switches, and VPNs. · Support implementation of security measures such as access controls, antivirus software, and endpoint protection. · Monitor basic security threats and escalate incidents as needed. · Provide first-level technical support for hardware, software, and connectivity issues. · Set up user accounts, passwords, and permissions in accordance with company policies. · Assist in educating employees on IT best practices and security awareness. · Install, configure, and update operating systems and business applications. · Maintain IT asset inventory, including tracking hardware and software licenses. · Assist with the proper decommissioning of outdated equipment and software. · Follow IT policies and procedures to ensure compliance with company standards. · Assist in maintaining documentation for IT systems, processes, and troubleshooting guides. · Support disaster recovery and data backup procedures. · Project & Vendor Coordination · Support IT infrastructure upgrades and technology rollouts. · Work with vendors on troubleshooting hardware and software issues. · Research and recommend basic technology improvements to enhance efficiency. · Provide technical support for hardware, software, connectivity, and security issues. · Coordinate enterprise-wide communication on IT best practices, security awareness & compliance. · Stay up to date with the latest trends in information technology and security by attending industry-relevant webinars and conferences on behalf of the organization. · Collaborate on development & implementation of information security policies, standards and procedures. · Collaborate with other teams to ensure security best practices are followed. · Research, recommend, and implement IT improvements to enhance efficiency. · Lead enterprise-wide presentations on IT best practices, infrastructure changes, and implementation of security and compliance standards. minimum Qualifications (Experience and Education) · Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent experience) is preferred. · Relevant certifications such as CCNA (Cisco Certified Network Associate), CompTIA Cybersecurity Analyst (CySA+), Security+, or Microsoft Certified: Azure Fundamentals are preferred. · 2+ years of experience in IT administration, technical support, or a related role. · Hands-on experience with Windows and/or Linux operating systems. · Experience with basic networking concepts (TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, VPNs, firewalls). · Proficiency in troubleshooting hardware, software, and network issues. · Knowledge of Active Directory, Microsoft 365, and cloud-based services. · Familiarity with IT security best practices, endpoint protection, and access control. · Strong problem-solving and analytical skills. · Excellent communication and customer service skills. · Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively. · Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies. · Availability for on-call or after-hours support as required. Employees must be able to move frequently within an office environment to utilize office machinery and other resources. The employee should be able to communicate information and concepts consistently and effectively for mutual understanding, including conveying precise details during these interactions. For accurate task execution, it is essential that the employee consistently maintains consistent specific vision abilities, especially the capability to discern close-up details within a few feet of the observer.
