Job Summary The Installation Technician at SafeTouch Security will be responsible for installing, configuring, servicing, and maintaining alarm systems for residential and small business clients. The tech ensures all systems function properly, meet client specifications, and deliver exceptional service to provide customers with peace of mind. This is a three-tiered role with increasing levels of responsibility and expertise. Tier One Duties and Responsibilities • Assist senior technicians in the installation and setup of alarm systems., • Assist with routing wires, mounting sensors, and installing control panels., • Conduct basic testing and troubleshooting of alarm systems to ensure proper functionality., • Assist with system programming and configuration., • Maintain accurate records of equipment inventory and project documentation., • Learn and follow industry best practices and safety protocols., • Perform basic system installations and service repairs independently., • Provide exceptional customer service and address customer inquiries or concerns., • Follow safety procedures and keep the job site clean, organized, and hazard-free, including thorough clean-up at the end of each project and workday., • Participate in an on-call rotation., • High school diploma or equivalent., • Basic understanding of low-voltage electrical systems, PCs, and networking., • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office., • Strong technical aptitude and willingness to learn., • Detail-oriented. Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills., • Work well independently and in a team environment., • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact professionally with employees, customers, and vendors., • Safety first mindset., • Pass drug screening and background requirements., • Valid driver's license and insurance-approved driving record. Maintain compliance with SafeTouch’s fleet driving policy., • Bilingual is a plus. Tier Two Duties and Responsibilities • Perform intermediate to larger installations and repairs of alarm systems independently., • Conduct comprehensive testing and troubleshooting of alarm systems to ensure optimal performance., • Maintain accurate records of equipment inventory and project documentation., • Provide exceptional customer service and address customer inquiries or concerns., • Provide guidance and training to Tier 1 technicians., • Coordinate with customers to schedule installations or service appointments and explain system functionalities., • Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations., • Stay updated on the latest security alarm technologies and advancements., • Follow safety procedures and keep the job site clean, organized, and hazard-free, including thorough clean-up at the end of each project and workday., • Participate in an on-call rotation., • High school diploma or equivalent., • At least two years of experience in alarm system installation or related field., • Proficient understanding of alarm system components and wiring principles., • Solid working knowledge of Microsoft Office., • Coordinate multiple installation or service projects simultaneously., • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills. Detail-oriented and demonstrates technical aptitude., • Work well independently and in a team environment., • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Interact professionally with employees, customers, and vendors., • Safety first mindset., • Pass drug screening and background requirements., • Valid driver's license and insurance-approved driving record. Maintain compliance with SafeTouch’s fleet driving policy., • Bilingual is a plus. Tier Three Duties and Responsibilities • Independently coordinate complex alarm system installations or repairs., • Design customized alarm system solutions based on client requirements., • Provide technical support and mentorship to junior technicians., • Conduct system inspections, audits, and quality control checks., • Conduct comprehensive testing and troubleshooting of alarm systems to ensure optimal performance., • Provide guidance and training to less experienced technicians., • Maintain accurate records of equipment inventory and project documentation., • Provide exceptional customer service and address customer inquiries or concerns., • Coordinate with customers to schedule installations or service appointments and explain system functionalities., • Develop and maintain relationships with clients and vendors., • Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations., • Stay updated on the latest security alarm technologies and advancements., • Assist in the development of standard operating procedures and best practices., • Follow safety procedures and keep the job site clean, organized, and hazard-free, including thorough clean-up at the end of each project and workday., • Participate in an on-call rotation., • High school diploma or equivalent., • Three or more years of experience in alarm system installation, service, or related field., • Advanced knowledge of alarm system components, programming, and integration., • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office., • Proven track record of successfully managing large-scale installations and handling complex technical issues., • Coordinate multiple installation or service projects simultaneously., • Advanced problem-solving, troubleshooting, and analytical skills. Detail-oriented and demonstrates technical aptitude., • Exceptional leadership and teamwork abilities., • Strong organizational and time management skills., • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Interact professionally with employees, customers, and vendors., • Related industry certifications are preferred. Training will be made available through SafeTouch, LLC., • Safety first mindset., • Pass drug screening and background requirements., • Valid driver's license and insurance-approved driving record. Maintain compliance with SafeTouch’s fleet driving policy., • Bilingual is a plus. Physical Requirements – all 3 tiers: • Work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions, including attics, crawl spaces, and roofs., • Stand, walk, or remain seated at a desk for extended periods., • Move equipment and materials up to 50 pounds., • Observe details at close range., • Handle products, take notes, operate technology, and present information., • Read documents and presentations using electronic devices and hard copy materials while interacting with others., • Exchange accurate information in person, over the phone, in writing, and electronically., • Communicate clearly and articulately for presentations and interpersonal interactions so others will understand., • May be exposed to loud noise., • Drive to work, client sites, and as business needs require., • Navigate uneven or slippery surfaces or both., • Safely ascend and descend stairs and ladders as needed., • Bend, kneel, crouch, and reach for extended periods., • Adequate vision, hearing, and manual dexterity to safely operate hand tools, power equipment, and heavy machinery. Job Type: Full-time, non-exempt Work/Base Location: Tampa, FL Core Work Hours/Availability: 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM Monday – Friday. Overtime as business needs require. Participate in an on-call rotation, with a $75 stipend per on-call period.
