    Harlem Shake is looking for an experienced and dependable Line Cook to join our kitchen team at our Harlem location. Our line cooks work in a busy, fast-paced kitchen preparing burgers, fries, chicken, shakes, and other menu items according to Harlem Shake recipes and quality standards. This position requires speed, accuracy, teamwork, and strong attention to food safety and cleanliness. Responsibilities: • Prepare and cook menu items according to recipes, portion standards, and guest requests, • Work assigned stations, including grill, fry, assembly, prep, and other kitchen areas as needed, • Make sure every order is prepared accurately, safely, and within the expected ticket time, • Complete daily food preparation, including batching, portioning, labeling, and stocking, • Follow FIFO procedures and properly rotate all food products, • Check food quality, freshness, temperatures, labels, and expiration dates, • Follow NYC Department of Health food-storage and sanitation requirements, • Prevent cross-contamination and follow all allergen procedures, • Keep stations stocked, clean, sanitized, and organized throughout the shift, • Complete opening, shift-change, and closing checklists, • Clean kitchen equipment, work surfaces, floors, storage areas, and assigned stations, • Properly record food waste and communicate low-stock items to the manager, • Follow manager and shift-lead instructions, • Assist other team members during busy periods, • Cross-train and complete prep, dishwashing, cleaning, or other kitchen responsibilities when needed, • Follow all Harlem Shake recipes, policies, safety procedures, and workplace standards Qualifications: • Previous line-cook, grill-cook, or fast-casual restaurant experience is strongly preferred, • Comfortable working in a high-volume and fast-paced kitchen, • Able to follow recipes, instructions, and food-safety procedures, • Strong sense of urgency and attention to detail, • Dependable, punctual, productive, and able to work well with a team, • Able to communicate clearly with managers and coworkers, • Willing to learn different kitchen stations and accept coaching, • Must maintain a professional and respectful attitude, • Must be available for scheduled shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed Physical Requirements: • Able to stand and move throughout the entire shift, • Able to work around grills, fryers, heat, steam, and other kitchen equipment, • Able to bend, reach, lift, carry, and perform repetitive tasks, • Able to safely lift and carry up to 50 pounds, • Able to work safely in hot, busy, and sometimes confined kitchen areas Job Types: Full-time and part-time Pay: $15–$18 per hour plus tips Location: Harlem Shake, 100 W. 124th Street, New York, NY 10027 Benefits may include a flexible schedule, paid vacation, and 401(k) eligibility.

    Harlem Shake is looking for an experienced, dependable, and hands-on Assistant Manager to support daily restaurant operations at our Harlem location. The Assistant Manager works closely with the Store Manager to lead the team, maintain strong operational standards, and provide an excellent guest experience. This is an active floor-management position that requires someone who can coach employees, solve problems, maintain accountability, and step into any area of the restaurant when needed. Responsibilities: • Lead FOH and BOH employees during assigned shifts, • Support the Store Manager with daily restaurant operations, • Assign employee stations, breaks, side work, and cleaning responsibilities, • Conduct preshift meetings and communicate daily priorities, • Make sure employees complete all assigned opening, closing, and operational checklists, • Coach employees and provide clear, respectful feedback, • Address attendance, performance, uniform, and policy concerns, • Document employee coaching and corrective-action issues when required, • Support employee training, cross-training, and development, • Maintain a positive, professional, and accountable workplace, • Provide excellent customer service and resolve guest concerns, • Monitor speed of service, order accuracy, food quality, and presentation, • Make sure FOH employees provide a warm welcome and goodbye to every guest, • Support the kitchen during high-volume periods when needed, • Monitor restaurant cleanliness throughout the shift, • Complete opening and closing procedures, • Handle cash, deposits, drawer counts, refunds, voids, discounts, and manager comps accurately, • Review register activity and investigate cash discrepancies, • Make sure waste, refunds, voids, and complimentary items are recorded correctly, • Monitor labor and make appropriate staffing adjustments based on business volume, • Assist with employee schedules and shift coverage, • Monitor inventory levels and communicate shortages, • Assist with receiving, organizing, and rotating deliveries, • Follow FIFO and proper food-storage procedures, • Enforce food-safety, allergen, sanitation, and NYC Department of Health requirements, • Complete required temperature, cleaning, safety, and operational logs, • Make sure equipment issues, incidents, injuries, and guest complaints are properly documented and reported, • Follow and enforce all Harlem Shake policies, recipes, service standards, and operational procedures, • Perform other management and restaurant duties as needed Qualifications: • Previous restaurant supervisory or assistant-management experience is required, • Fast-casual, quick-service, or full-service restaurant experience is preferred, • Valid NYC Food Protection Certificate is required, • Strong leadership, communication, organization, and problem-solving skills, • Comfortable coaching employees and holding the team accountable, • Able to remain calm and make decisions in a fast-paced environment, • Experience with POS systems, cash handling, deposits, scheduling, inventory, and labor management, • Strong understanding of food safety and sanitation requirements, • Dependable, punctual, detail-oriented, and professional, • Able to work independently while following direction from the Store Manager and senior leadership, • Must be available to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required Physical Requirements: • Able to stand and move throughout the entire shift, • Able to work in dining-room and kitchen environments, • Able to bend, reach, lift, carry, and perform repetitive tasks, • Able to safely lift and carry up to 50 pounds, • Able to work around grills, fryers, heat, steam, and other restaurant equipment Job Type: Full-time Pay: $20–$24 per hour Schedule: Eight-hour shifts with evening, weekend, and holiday availability as needed Location: Harlem Shake, 100 W. 124th Street, New York, NY 10027 Benefits may include a flexible schedule, paid vacation, and 401(k) eligibility.
