Job Description The Project Estimator is responsible for preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for engineered oil and gas measurement equipment projects, including natural gas and liquid measurement systems. This role supports business development, project management, engineering, procurement, and operations by developing detailed project cost models that align with customer specifications, applicable industry standards, and company financial objectives. The estimator will evaluate RFQs, drawings, specifications, material requirements, labor content, subcontracted services, logistics, and schedule impacts to develop complete proposals for fabrication and packaged equipment projects. The ideal candidate possesses strong technical understanding of oil and gas measurement systems, fabrication processes, and industry compliance standards including AGA and API requirements. Key Responsibilities: Estimating & Proposal Development: Review customer RFQs, bid packages, specifications, P&IDs, GA drawings, and commercial terms. Develop detailed cost estimates for: • LACT Units, • Turbine Meter Skids, • Ultrasonic Meter Skids, • Coriolis Meter Systems, • Production Equipment Packages, • Analyzer Shelters and Instrumentation Packages, • Fabrication, • Welding, • Assembly, • Electrical and instrumentation installation, • Develop detailed bill of material (BOM) and coordinate material pricing with procurement and suppliers., • Analyze project scope, risks, execution strategy, and schedule impacts to determine overall project costs., • Support development of proposal clarifications, assumptions, exclusions, and commercial qualifications. Interpret and apply industry standards and customer specifications including: • American Petroleum Institute (API), • American Gas Association (AGA), • ASME, • NEC, • Design concepts, • Material selections, • Measurement configurations, • Compliance requirements, • Understand custody transfer and measurement applications for both gas and liquid hydrocarbons., • Evaluate fabrication complexity, constructability, and manufacturing execution strategies. Work closely with: • Sales and Business Development, • Engineering, • Project Management, • Procurement, • Manufacturing Operations, • Quality and Compliance Teams, • Participate in customer clarification meetings and internal bid review meetings., • Support project turnover meetings to ensure proper transition from estimating to execution. Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in: • Engineering, • Construction Management, • Industrial Technology, • 5+ years of estimating, project management, fabrication, or engineering experience in the oil and gas industry preferred., • Experience with packaged equipment manufacturing and skid fabrication strongly preferred., • Experience with custody transfer measurement systems preferred. Strong understanding of oil and gas measurement equipment and fabrication practices. Ability to read and interpret: • P&IDs, • Isometrics, • Mechanical drawings, • Electrical drawings, • Instrument specifications, • Knowledge of manufacturing labor estimation methods and cost modeling., • Strong commercial and analytical mindset., • High attention to detail and organizational skills., • Microsoft Excel, • ERP/MRP systems, • Estimating software Experience with lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
