Job Description Wills Eye Hospital is hiring an ASC Patient Access Representative - Billing & Surgical Scheduling in Cherry Hill, NJ at our Wills Eye Surgery Center - Cherry Hill, NJ location. In this role, you’ll be responsible for supporting front-end patient access operations while coordinating surgical scheduling and providing medical billing support within the Ambulatory Surgery Center. You’ll manage accurate registration, scheduling, billing processes and contribute to a positive patient experience. Key Responsibilities * Greet and assist patients and visitors in person and by telephone in a professional and courteous manner. * Register new patients and update existing patient demographics, including verification of insurance and financial information. * Verify insurance eligibility, benefits, referrals, and authorizations for office visits, procedures, and surgical services. * Collect co-payments, deductibles, and outstanding patient balances in accordance with established policies. * Coordinate and schedule surgical procedures, diagnostic testing, and imaging services in collaboration with surgeons, anesthesia, and ASC staff. * Communicate pre-operative instructions, scheduling details, and financial expectations to patients in a clear and timely manner. * Manage surgical schedule changes, cancellations, and reschedules while ensuring accuracy and completeness of documentation. Minimum Qualifications * High School Diploma or equivalent required * Prior experience in a healthcare setting, preferably within an ambulatory surgery center, medical office, or specialty practice. * Experience with patient registration, insurance verification, surgical scheduling, and/or medical billing processes. * Knowledge of medical terminology and healthcare workflows. * Familiarity with health insurance products including HMO, PPO, HSA, Commercial, and Medicare plans. * Ability to navigate electronic medical records and online insurance portals. * Proficiency with Microsoft Office and standard office technology. * Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines. * Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills. * Customer-focused approach with the ability to remain calm and professional in high-pressure situations. * Strong attention to detail and accuracy, particularly with financial and medical documentation.
