ESTIMATOR – Commercial & Industrial Position Description: The position of Estimator should be capable of preparing proposals for all types of projects (i.e. commercial, industrial, mission critical, education, healthcare, underground, etc.). An individual in this position shall have experience in understanding the means and methods required for completion of various types of construction. What You’ll Do as a Bridge Project Engineer • Lead bridge design, including load rating, structural analysis, and foundation design., • Develop design plans, specifications, and cost estimates for bridge and transportation structures., • Maintain detailed records of bridge design documents, reports, and budgets., • Participate in project planning meetings and align tasks to meet scope, schedule, and budget requirements., • Support project managers with schedules, documentation, and presentations., • Ensure designs adhere to state and local standards, regulations and safety codes., • Review plans and technical deliverables to ensure quality, accuracy, and constructability., • Conduct field inspections, prepare detailed bridge inspection reports and analyze foundation design., • Provide technical support during construction, respond to RFIs and attend site visits., • Collaborate and communicate effectively with clients, subconsultants and regulatory approving agencies., • B.S. degree in Civil Engineering or a related field, Master’s preferred., • 10+ years of transportation experience with a strong background in structures and bridge design., • Professional Engineering License (PE) preferred or ability to obtain it., • Proficiency in MicroStation, STAAD and Bridge Design Software., • Familiarity with state DOT design standards (NYSDOT or PennDOT preferred)., • Professional performance aligned with Fisher’s Mission, Vision, Core Values, and Clientship philosophy., • Dedicated to fostering trusting relationships through collaboration, integrity, respect, and active listening, • Proven ability to deliver quality work through critical thinking, problem-solving, and sound judgment, • Proactively own projects, prioritize effectively, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced, growth environment., • Superior organizational and planning skills with keen attention to detail, • You are empowered to achieve exceptional results through collaboration and ownership., • Your voice matters in our inclusive culture, where accessible leadership welcomes ideas and feedback., • Your growth is our priority, supported by clear career paths, career discussions and tuition assistance., • You thrive in a culture that keeps work fun and fosters a relaxed, easy-going atmosphere., • Your journey is supported by a collaborative environment that promotes mentorship and ongoing learning.
