Job Description Bonmente is an outpatient mental health organization that provides comprehensive, high-quality care. Our state-of-the-art office is located in Long Beach, and we serve patients throughout California, Arizona, and Florida via in-person and telemedicine services. Our offerings include psychiatric medication management, ADHD evaluations, TMS, and therapeutic services. We are seeking an experienced Medical Billing & Collections Manager to oversee, optimize, and lead our revenue cycle operations. This individual will play a critical role in ensuring accurate billing, timely reimbursement, regulatory compliance, and ethical collection practices while serving as a leader and subject-matter expert for the organization. Position Summary The Medical Billing & Collections Manager is responsible for managing all aspects of billing and collections for insurance and private-pay patients. This role oversees claim submission, payment posting, denial management, patient collections, and compliance, while developing efficient workflows and improving revenue performance. The manager serves as a liaison between insurance carriers and patients, and provides leadership, guidance, and reporting to management. Key Responsibilities Billing & Revenue Cycle Management: Oversee the preparation, submission, and tracking of clean claims. • Ensure daily billing submissions to the clearinghouse and monitor claim status., • Audit patient charges for accuracy and compliance with clinical documentation., • Identify, correct, and resubmit rejected or denied claims., • Manage insurance appeals and follow through to resolution., • Track unpaid balances, patient responsibility amounts, and aging accounts., • Ensure accurate posting of payments, co-payments, adjustments, and write-offs., • Act as the primary point of contact for insurance carriers and complex billing issues., • Communicate professionally with patients regarding billing questions, balances, and payment arrangements., • Ensure ethical, compliant collection practices in accordance with applicable state and federal regulations., • Establish, monitor, and improve billing workflows, policies, and procedures., • Review accounts for collection strategies and provide recommendations to leadership., • Identify trends in denials, underpayments, or workflow inefficiencies and implement solutions., • Perform daily, weekly, and monthly billing close-outs and reporting., • Ensure HIPAA compliance and protection of patient privacy at all times., • Maintain accuracy and data integrity across billing platforms and EHR systems., • Utilize tools including DrChrono, Excel, Word, Google Workspace, and Dropbox. Required / Preferred • 3–5 years of medical billing experience, preferably with increasing responsibility, • Behavioral health billing experience strongly preferred, • Billing Certificate, CPC, or Certified Medical Biller (preferred), • Strong knowledge of insurance billing, collections, appeals, and compliance regulations, • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities, • Full-time, • Hybrid or remote work may be available for the right candidate Company DescriptionBonmente treats mental health disorders using a variety of treatments, including medications, psychotherapy, and telemedicine.
