Job Description Responsibilities The Procurement & Inventory Manager is responsible for sourcing materials, equipment, and subcontractor services required for broadband construction and telecommunications operations. This includes reviewing project documentation and Bills of Materials provided by engineering teams to determine required materials for each project location and ensuring all items are correctly specified before orders are placed. The role involves identifying and working with multiple vendors and suppliers to obtain pricing, availability, and lead times for required materials. The Procurement & Inventory Manager will negotiate vendor pricing and delivery schedules where appropriate in order to maintain cost efficiency while ensuring reliable supply for ongoing projects. Purchase orders must be created, submitted, and tracked to ensure proper documentation and procurement visibility. This position manages the full lifecycle of material procurement, including quote requests, order placement, shipment tracking, delivery coordination, and confirmation of received materials. Special attention must be given to verifying part numbers, quantities, compatibility, and pricing prior to finalizing orders to prevent project delays or ordering errors. The Procurement & Inventory Manager will also oversee inventory tracking and material readiness across multiple projects and locations. This includes maintaining records of materials ordered, received, staged, or distributed to field crews and subcontractors. Coordination with construction supervisors, project managers, and field teams is required to ensure materials are delivered to the correct site locations and available prior to installation or construction start dates. Another key component of the role is overseeing the receipt, storage, and staging of materials prior to deployment. Materials must be properly documented upon arrival and tracked through distribution to installation teams or contractors. The Procurement & Inventory Manager is responsible for monitoring vendor performance and addressing issues such as shipment delays, incorrect orders, damaged materials, or quality concerns. Accurate documentation is essential in this position. Procurement logs, purchase orders, vendor records, delivery confirmations, and inventory tracking must be maintained to ensure transparency and operational visibility. These records may be required for internal reporting, financial reconciliation, project tracking, and compliance with external funding or reporting requirements. The Procurement & Inventory Manager will coordinate regularly with project managers, construction supervisors, engineering teams, and finance departments to ensure procurement aligns with project schedules and budget expectations. The role also supports audit preparation and reporting by maintaining organized procurement and inventory documentation. Qualifications Candidates should have at least three years of experience in procurement, inventory management, supply chain coordination, or purchasing roles. Experience supporting construction projects, telecommunications infrastructure, or broadband network deployments is strongly preferred. Successful candidates will demonstrate strong vendor management and negotiation skills, along with the ability to coordinate procurement activities across multiple vendors and project locations. Attention to detail is critical, particularly when verifying part numbers, material specifications, quantities, and pricing before purchase orders are finalized. Applicants should be comfortable working with inventory tracking tools, procurement systems, and spreadsheets, including proficiency with Microsoft Excel. Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects, orders, and timelines simultaneously are essential. A bachelor’s degree in business, supply chain management, operations, or a related field is preferred, although equivalent professional experience in procurement or materials management will also be considered.
