Job Description ** RC Security Consulting is looking for an experienced Security, CCTV, and Access Controls Technician who has a history of working on a project from the installation all the way through to the final inspection. Technicians will be a part of our professional team that has the responsibility of installing and servicing Intrusion Alarms, CCTV, Access Control, Camera Systems, Access Control Systems, Gate Entry, Gate Operators, and Fire Alarms. If you are looking for a company you can grow with, come join us. • Provide install and service support for all alarm, video surveillance, and access control for current and new customer in the service areas, • All installation activity related to electronic security to include but not limited to: effectively communicating and coordinating with customers, security team, cable pulling, mounting devices, system programming and customer training, • Installation, maintenance and troubleshooting, programming and inspections of fire alarms, • Prioritizing, planning and time management, • Interact with customers in a professional manner to cultivate positive customer relationships, • Communicate with the communication center with closeout information pertaining to service calls, • Communicate with management as to needs and actions taken or to be taken to complete projects in a timely manner, • Responsible for handling service calls in compliance with client contractual agreement., • Complete all necessary paperwork or service system in a timely manner to ensure real time communication is shared with the team., • Communicate to upper management any service items requested by the customer to ensure it falls in line with the signed service agreement., • Perform preventative maintenance duties as assigned and complete as required by customer service agreement., • Safety: Always be aware of your surroundings and the people in the vicinity that can pose threat to technician safety, technician safety is always first • Firm grasp of mechanical and electrical functions., • Must be able to diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and telecommunication faults., • Ability to read floor plans., • Aptitude to read, understand and apply knowledge from technical documents, • System programming, • Familiarity with the proper use of volt/ohm meters, circuit toners and Telco/network connector termination tools., • Familiarity with basic networking theory. (Assigning IP addresses, connecting network switches and routers., • Analytical ability to diagnose basic problems and ability to work with minimum supervision., • Inspect installation sites and study work orders, building plans, and installation manuals in order to determine materials requirement and efficient installation procedures., • Must remain up to date with industry licensing and testing requirements., • Must be proficient in using a PC., • Must be able to effectively use tools and equipment as provided., • Must possess critical thinking skills and the ability to make decisions while under limited supervision., • Must be able to safely operate a motor vehicle and possess a valid driver’s license., • Must be physically capable of performing the job, • Must have the ability to communicate orally and in writing, • Must be motivated and a self starter with the ability to interact with people and the general public List of tools, software, or other devices used: • Familiarity with IP camera, DVR and alarm panel set up procedures using a laptop and vendor specific software., • Basic hand tools such as screw drivers, pliers, wire cutters, wire strippers, wrenches, drill bits and a battery operated drill, flashlight, Volt/Ohm meter, circuit toner, view cam for analog camera focusing, a butt set for Telco troubleshooting. Duties & Responsibilities: • Technical Expertise, • ·Mechanical aptitude, • 2-5 years alarm security experience preferred., • Install and service alarm panels., • CCTV experience, • Willing to learn Fire Alarms, • Access Control experience, • Basic computer skills including experience with, • Excel, • Perform preventive maintenance inspections and service., • Ensure that documentation is properly completed and submitted, • Assist other technicians as needed., • Request and share technical knowledge., • Escalate and resolve issues when appropriate., • Recognize recurring trips to same site for the same issue and report to management., • Minimize the number of trips to the site to resolve the issue., • Access part needed before going if possible., • Performs service and installation of access control, intrusion alarm, video surveillance systems, and other various security-related systems., • Performs upgrades and additions to systems in order to increase functionality and usability., • Performs computer program entry as required to add cameras, access control devices, and intrusion alarm systems as needed., • Coordinates with administration for the purpose of completing projects/work orders efficiently., • Provides documentation in electronic formats (e.g. notes regarding the service call, time and materials, etc.) for the purpose of providing written support in compliance with company procedures and/or conveying information., • Maintain and control inventory., • List parts accurately and timely on work orders, • Keep truck stock by being proactive in replenishing., • Anticipate parts required to meet or exceed goals., • Requests equipment and supplies to the Inventory Specialist Technician to review and submit to Purchasing., • Respond to all phone calls from other RCSC personnel within four hours., • Respond to all emails within 24 hours., • Accurate reporting of dispatch, arrival and completion times, • Recognize that this data is analyzed, and some customers receive reports based on response and resolution, • Maintain Security License by adhering to annual continuing education requirements., • Ability to pass a criminal background check and drug screen test., • Valid Driver’s License and insurance, • Maintaining confidentiality of work-related information and materials. Customer Service • Strong customer service skills, • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, including tact and diplomacy., • Ability to perform occasionally under pressure., • Good judgment in what is appropriate to say and do., • Instruct Customer's use of equipment., • Ability to multi-task and time management skills, • Perform tasks requiring bending, stooping, kneeling, standing, and walking significant distances., • Active Listening -- Giving full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate, and not interrupting at inappropriate times., • Ability to understand and follow instructions precisely.
