Job Description BASIC FUNCTION AND RESPONSIBILITY: The Saw/Metal Machine Operator will deliver precision metal cutting which will provide an excellent customer service satisfaction for all customers. Reports To: Plant Manager Summary/Objective: The Saw/Metal Machine Operator is responsible for precision cutting, following guidelines for product specification, as well as, creating a safe work environment to ensure accurate timely products to aid in the work flow of the plant. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: • Responsible for installing and adjusting saw blades, setting guides or stops, and calibrating machines to ensure accurate cuts. Operate various saw types, including band saws and CNC saws. Recognizes and reports defective materials., • Safely load and unload materials and verify material types and dimensions before cutting., • Perform routine maintenance on saw machines, such as blade inspection and lubrication. Troubleshoot and resolve minor machine issues. Notifies the maintenance department concerning any issues relating to safety, decrease of productivity or potentially leading to major maintenance issues., • Accountable for achieving daily, weekly, monthly set goals for machine and department., • Accurately utilizes tools such as tape measure to check length and width of material. Measures workpiece dimensions to determine accuracy of machine operation., • Ability to read small print and proficiency in using measuring instruments with basic understanding of machine operations., • Ability to foster and maintain positive working relations by demonstrating a professional and positive work ethic., • Ability to work in a fast pace environment.
