Job Description Job Title Director, Warehouse Operations Location McKinney, TX Reports To Chief Operating Officer (COO) / Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Role Summary As the Warehouse Director, you will lead all aspects of warehouse operations, logistics, and fulfillment. You’ll be responsible for ensuring that inventory is accurately received, stored, picked, packed, and shipped with precision, speed, and efficiency. Your leadership will directly impact our bottom line by reducing shrinkage, increasing throughput, and maintaining a seamless customer delivery experience. This is a strategic and operational leadership role that requires a strong mix of hands-on execution, team leadership, and continuous improvement thinking. Primary Responsibilities Operations & Logistics Management * Oversee all day-to-day warehouse activities including receiving, picking, packing, shipping, and returns. * Manage inbound and outbound logistics and relationships with shipping carriers and logistics partners to negotiate competitive rates, optimize transportation routes, and ensure on-time delivery of customer orders. * Ensure Warehouse supplies are kept in stock, ordering proactively from various suppliers as-needed. * Develop and enforce warehouse policies, safety procedures, and compliance with OSHA standards. * Ensure Warehouse and Retail Store are kept adequately stocked. Inventory Management * Work with Purchasing for inventory planning, forecasting, and replenishment strategies to minimize stockouts, reduce excess inventory, and optimize inventory turnover rates. * Ensure accurate inventory tracking through cycle counts, audits, and reconciliation with ERP or WMS systems such as Shopify and Stocky. * Partner with purchasing and finance to verify stock accuracy, minimize stockouts, and reduce excess/obsolete inventory. * Establish and enforce loss prevention protocols, security systems, and product handling best practices. People Leadership * Hire, train, and manage warehouse staff across multiple shifts and functions. This includes full or part-time employees, contractors and temporary services as-needed. * Create a high-performance culture with KPIs, performance reviews, and ongoing coaching. * Lead and foster a safety-first, accountable, and efficient warehouse team. Process Optimization * Identify bottlenecks and inefficiencies, and implement, monitor and manage process improvements. * Scale fulfillment workflows and space utilization in line with business growth. * Leverage technology (WMS, barcode scanning, automation) to optimize operations. Cross-Functional Collaboration * Work closely with e-commerce, customer service, purchasing, and finance teams to ensure fulfillment accuracy and service-level agreement (SLA) adherence. * Act as the point of escalation for fulfillment-related issues impacting customer experience or operational efficiency. Qualifications * 5+ years in warehouse or fulfillment operations, with at least 2+ years in a leadership role. * Proven experience managing logistics for an e-commerce business (ideally $5M–$50M in revenue). * Deep knowledge of warehouse management systems (WMS), inventory control processes, and fulfillment logistics. * Strong leadership skills with experience managing and scaling warehouse teams. * Analytical mindset with ability to manage budgets, metrics, and operational reports. * Hands-on experience with warehouse safety, compliance, and physical infrastructure. * Excellent problem-solving, communication, and cross-functional collaboration abilities. * Demonstrated ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, with a strong focus on results, customer satisfaction, and continuous improvement.
