Job Description The Center for Elders’ Independence is a PACE (Program of All-Inclusive Care for the elderly) organization that uses an interdisciplinary team approach to care planning and care implementation for the purpose of providing high quality, affordable, integrated health care services to the elderly, including an Adult Day Health Center, and promoting autonomy, quality of life and the ability of individuals to live in their communities. The Position: The Personal Care Attendant I provides assistance to CEI participants in the participant’s home or day center. The Personal Care Attendant I demonstrates knowledge and skills necessary to provide personal care and ADL/IADL care to frail elderly who need help to continue living safely in the community. The Personal Care Attendant (PCA) I provides care and services as determined by the participant’s care plan in accordance with PACE Regulations. Push/pull up to 20 lbs., • Ability to climb ladders, reach and bend., • Work in temperatures ranging from 50 - 85 degrees - especially in our stock room areas., • SMITs of mall and strip center stores must work at least two nights during the week until closing, one weekend night and one other night., • Strip center SMITs must also work a full shift on Saturdays., • Mall SMITs are expected to work peak business days including weekends (Saturday & Sunday)., • SMITs are expected to work a minimum of one full Sunday per month., • SMITs of downtown stores must also work during the lunch hour of 11am to 2pm Monday through Friday. Downtown SMITs must also work one night per week until closing if the store is open in the evening. SMITs of downtown stores are not required to work Saturdays.
