THE ROLE As the Meal Service Provider at Invictus, you ensure every student is nourished, on time, and served with care. You oversee the daily preparation and distribution of breakfast and coordinate lunch service for approximately 405 students which includes managing logistics, heating and setting up meals, and maintaining clean, sanitary serving areas between services. You keep our program audit-ready by submitting accurate documentation and upholding compliance standards, while collaborating closely with operations staff to anticipate needs and solve problems in real time. Beyond the line, you contribute to a safe and welcoming campus by serving at supervision posts during transitions and meal periods, assisting with translation when needed, and supporting additional school operations tasks. In that spirit, we are seeking exceptional individuals to execute the following essential job duties and responsibilities: ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS • Manage and oversee daily preparation and distribution of breakfast each day, including stocking and driving the breakfast cart., • Manage and oversee daily preparation and distribution of lunch to approximately 405 middle and high school students during two lunch periods., • Manage and submit relevant documentation to ensure meal program compliance., • Coordinate meal program logistics including ordering, receiving, conducting inventory, and stocking meals., • Heat meals and set up food for students., • Prepare fresh fruit and vegetables for the salad bar., • Manage and oversee the food service room, its equipment, and setup for the lunch service., • Clean food serving surfaces between meal services., • Serve at supervision posts during transition to, from, and during breakfast and lunch periods, as assigned., • Support or assist with translation or additional school operations based tasks as assigned., • Participate in student supervision and monitoring throughout the school day., • Upholding Invictus expectations and protocol for students visiting the main office., • Attend and participate in school-wide events including Back to School Night, Parent/Teacher conferences, End of the Year events, Grade Level Meetings, Department Meetings, Summer Professional Development, weekly Professional Development during the school year, and other assigned meetings., • Demonstrate proficient use of technology to communicate with staff, families, and community members using multiple school-based platforms., • Demonstrate regular and consistent attendance in order to perform essential functions of the role., • Perform duties with punctuality, professionalism, and a high attention to detail., • Collaborate with staff and leadership to continuously improve practices and address student needs effectively., • Foster open and respectful communication, offering and receiving constructive feedback to enhance personal and team performance., • Set and hold high expectations for academics and behavior., • Develop trusting, authentic relationships with students and their families., • Create and maintain a joyful, safe, structured, and engaging school and classroom culture., • Supervise and engage with students in-person to ensure student safety and learning., • Uphold and model core values, including purpose, perseverance, productivity, growth mindset, integrity, leadership, joy, gratitude, mindfulness, and kindness., • Perform any other reasonable duties or responsibilities as assigned by your supervisor., • Currently hold or willing to obtain a Food Handlers card., • Strong organizational and multitasking skills with attention to detail., • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion., • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal., • Pass a Criminal Background Check through the Department of Justice, • Multilingual in Spanish., • Experience with food service., • Associates degree or equivalent required; Bachelors degree or higher preferred. This is a part-time and on-site position that requires sufficient mobility to report to campus, work in an office, and engage with students, families, and colleagues, with or without reasonable accommodations. The role may involve light lifting, pushing/pulling, standing, sitting, and bending for extended periods. Success in this role requires working well under pressure, meeting deadlines, and adapting to stressful and unpredictable environments. The employee must effectively prioritize and organize tasks while maintaining open and respectful communication with families and community members using school platforms and technology. Attendance and active participation in school-wide events, professional development sessions, and other assigned meetings are essential.
