Job Summary The Host plays a vital role in creating a warm, welcoming, and organized front-door experience. Hosts are responsible for making reservations, greeting and seating guests, and communicating clearly with the service team to support smooth dining room flow. Under the direction of the Lead Host and Manager, the Host focuses on exceptional hospitality, attention to detail, and consistency, ensuring every guest feels genuinely cared for while operational plans are carried out accurately and calmly. Duties & Responsibilities Guest Experience & Hospitality • Warmly and graciously greet all guests immediately upon arrival, creating a positive and lasting first impression., • Engage guests with professionalism, kindness, and clarity while managing expectations around wait times and seating., • Anticipate guest needs and communicate concerns or special requests to the Lead Host or Manager., • Execute seating plans and table assignments as directed by the Lead Host or Manager., • Accurately manage reservations, walk-ins, and waitlists using Reserve in accordance with company guidelines., • Book, confirm, and update reservations with attention to guest notes and preferences., • Serve as a reliable communication link by relaying guest needs, pacing observations, and service updates to the Lead Host and service team., • Support servers and support staff by assisting with table resets, light bussing, and maintaining dining room readiness as needed., • Ensure host stand, entryway, and waiting areas are clean, organized, and guest-ready at all times., • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of menus, daily specials, and beverage offerings to answer basic guest questions., • Answer phones professionally, provide accurate information, and take complete messages., • Keep menus clean, current, and well-presented., • Schedule and manage dining reservations under the direction of the Lead Host or Manager., • Assist guests with seating arrangements and general dining inquiries., • Present menus and provide basic food and beverage information., • Communicate with guests to ensure satisfaction and relay concerns appropriately., • Assist with bussing, table resets, and cleanliness of dining and host areas., • Stock host and service areas with necessary supplies., • Operate POS or reservation systems as needed.Requirements:, • 1–2 years of experience in a service-oriented Front of House role; prior Host experience preferred., • Strong communication, listening, and interpersonal skills., • Ability to follow direction, execute plans accurately, and work collaboratively within a team., • Calm, professional demeanor in a fast-paced environment., • Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, and move for 8–10 hours per shift., • Ability to lift and carry up to 30 lbs intermittently., • Experience with Reserve or similar reservation systems., • Hospitality-driven restaurant experience (farm-to-table, fine dining, or guest-focused concepts).
