You will be responsible for supervising Licensed Practical Nurses, Certified Nursing Assistants, and orientees to ensure a cohesive and effective care environment. Key Responsibilities: • Conduct comprehensive nursing assessments for all patients within 8 hours of admission, forming the basis of individualized care plans., • Collaborate with patients, families, and the interdisciplinary team to identify teaching needs and establish goals related to patient diagnoses., • Provide timely updates on patient information and status for initial and re-evaluation team conferences., • Ensure all documentation of assessments, interventions, and patient responses is accurate and submitted in accordance with hospital policy., • Participate actively in the patient rehabilitation program, prioritizing education for patients and families based on identified health care needs., • Initiate discharge planning upon patient admission, including teaching and preparation for discharge., • Communicate pertinent changes in patient status to support continuity of care and patient safety., • Supervise and train ancillary nursing personnel, utilizing effective problem-solving techniques., • Maintain personal and environmental safety as per hospital and nursing protocols., • Contribute positively to unit functioning by offering direction, support, and reassurance to staff, patients, and families., • Facilitate necessary communication with management regarding service needs, such as supplies and training., • Take charge responsibility as requested after completing the orientation period., • Engage in professional growth through continuing education and self-study., • Organize and prioritize tasks to efficiently meet patient needs. Required Qualifications: • Current BLS Certification prior to first shift., • ACLS Certification (required for specific locations)., • Minimum of two (2) years of bedside clinical experience., • Experience in PCU/Critical Care or Step-Down units., • Strong communication, organization, and interpersonal skills.
