As a Veterinary Oncology Technician at MVA, you will be at the heart of patient care, supporting both pets and their people often during challenging times. In this role, you will: • Prepare and administer chemotherapy, targeted therapies, and supportive medications following strict safety protocols., • Monitor patients pre- and post-treatment, carefully tracking vital signs, potential side effects, and overall comfort., • Collaborate with oncologists and fellow technicians to develop and update personalized treatment plans, ensuring the highest standard of care., • Provide compassionate client communication, including education about treatment options, home care, and ongoing symptom management., • Assist with diagnostic procedures such as blood draws, imaging (radiographs, CT, MRI), and sample collection for cytology or histopathology. Our ideal candidate has: • 1+ years in a specialty, oncology, or high-volume veterinary setting, • Holds a current CVT/LVT/RVT (or educational equivalency), • A strong understanding of chemotherapy safety protocols, including handling and administration, • Excellent communication skills, particularly in educating and supporting clients during stressful or emotional situations, • Proficiency in venipuncture, IV catheter placement, sample collection, and anesthesia/monitoring, • Familiarity with advanced diagnostic tools (radiographs, CT, MRI) and laboratory procedures, • Empathy, resilience, and a team-focused attitude, recognizing the sensitive nature of oncology cases, • Embraces Fear Free handling to ensure safe, stress-free interactions for patients, clients, and the team #ACP2
