What You Will Be Doing The Facility Escort supports a mission‑critical, 24/7 airport environment by providing controlled access, oversight, and coordination for contractors, service providers, and technical teams working throughout the Central Passenger Terminal Complex. This role manages escorting and roof access activities, supports utility shutdown coordination, and assists with project workflow to ensure safe and compliant work in active airport facilities. The escort monitors contractor activity across terminals, concourses, ramps, deicing areas, and central utility spaces while maintaining required documentation and adherence to airport procedures. By ensuring proper access control and operational awareness, this position helps protect airport infrastructure, life‑safety systems, and continuous airport operations. Facility Escort Duties & Responsibilities • Escort contractors, vendors, and technical service providers in secured and restricted areas of the CPTC., • Facilitate AATC’s approved Roof Access Program, controlling and documenting roof access activities., • Monitor contractor compliance with safety rules, work permits, and airport operational requirements., • Support planned and unplanned utility shutdown oversight (electrical, domestic water, HVAC, tunnel ventilation, fire suppression, central utility plant, etc.)., • Coordinate with Maintenance Supervisors and trade technicians during system isolations and restorations., • Maintain detailed documentation of escorted activities, access logs, and work verification., • Support capital project execution and warranty management oversight when required., • Provide courier services (package/mail pick-up and delivery) as required by SOW., • Ensure contractor work areas remain safe, clean, and compliant with AATC standards., • Report unsafe conditions or non-compliant activity immediately to management., • Support deicing facility and exterior asset access coordination when required., • Ensure zero unauthorized contractor access incidents., • Maintain accurate escort logs and documentation., • Support on-time completion of planned utility shutdowns., • Minimize operational disruption during contractor activities., • Maintain full compliance with roof access program requirements., • Support contract Staffing / Work Complete / Inspection performance model., • 3–5+ years of experience in facilities operations, contractor coordination, airport operations, construction oversight, or related field., • Experience working in secure or regulated environments (airport, military, transportation, hub, hospital, or government facility preferred)., • Strong understanding of job site safety protocols (OSHA awareness required)., • Ability to read basic construction drawings and understand scope of work activities., • Strong situational awareness and ability to identify safety or compliance risks., • Professional communication skills; ability to represent AATC and Service Provider in a highly visible environment., • Experience coordinating multi-trade activities (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire suppression, etc.)., • Comfortable working across multiple shifts (365 days/year staffing model)., • Ability to obtain airport badging and pass background screening., • Strong documentation and reporting ability. This role operates throughout terminals, rooftops, mechanical rooms, ramp areas, deicing facilities, and exterior environments. Work includes extended walking, outdoor exposure, coordination during live system operations, and oversight of contractors performing electrical, mechanical, and structural work. All activities must comply with OSHA regulations, airport security protocols, AATC safety standards, and governing agency requirements.
