To support this evolution, we are seeking a manager to join the Strategic Growth Team and serve as the embedded strategic and operational partner to the Real Estate Practice Group. SUMMARY: This role supports one of the firm’s largest and most complex practices by serving as the primary strategic and operational partner to the Real Estate Practice Group co-chairs. The Manager translates strategy into action, bringing structure, visibility, and disciplined execution to group priorities while connecting attorneys, business professionals, and data across the firm to drive smarter, more intentional growth. Acting as a chief-of-staff to practice leadership, the Manager oversees day-to-day practice management and collaborates closely with Strategic Growth teams across Marketing & Communications, Business Growth & Client Solutions, and practice management. Positioned at the intersection of strategy and execution, the role enables informed decision-making, delivers relevant market intelligence, and advances initiatives that strengthen client relationships, attorney engagement, and practice growth. The position requires strong strategic thinking, project management, data fluency, and cross-functional collaboration. The ideal candidate is highly communicative, credible with senior stakeholders, and skilled at influencing in a collaborative, non-hierarchical environment, with the ability to turn data into actionable insights and build trust through consistent follow-through and strong relationship-building. Regular in-office presence and travel across Boston, New York, and Washington, D.C. are expected. DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: Leadership, Culture, and Collaboration • Partner with Real Estate Practice Group co-chairs to translate priorities into clear plans and consistent execution., • Build strong, visible relationships across the practice to stay attuned to team dynamics, opportunities, and challenges., • Collaborate with Strategic Growth and practice operations leaders to align group priorities with firmwide initiatives and deliver integrated support., • Promote a proactive, high-accountability, service-oriented approach that is visible, connected, and value-adding. Strategic Alignment & Practice Operations • Lead execution of the Real Estate Practice Group strategy by setting priorities, tracking progress, and surfacing risks or adjustments., • Act as a central connector across firm functions and Strategic Growth teams to support group priorities and ensure alignment., • Plan and facilitate meetings, manage agendas and materials, and drive follow-through on decisions and action items., • Support operational planning, including staffing, workload visibility, resource allocation, and governance., • Monitor market and industry trends, delivering timely insights and identifying opportunities or risks., • Serve as the key liaison and two-way connector between the Real Estate Practice Group and Strategic Growth, ensuring clear communication, alignment, and follow-through., • Identify and advance opportunities related to client growth, cross-selling, and visibility., • Collaborate on initiatives that strengthen market positioning, including thought leadership, events, and collateral., • Foster cross-practice collaboration by connecting people, insights, and opportunities across the firm. Data, Reporting, and Decision Support • Develop and maintain dashboards and reporting on key performance indicators in partnership with Finance and other teams., • Translate data into clear, actionable insights that support leadership decision-making., • Organize and consolidate reports, notes, and materials into accessible repositories and concise executive summaries., • Respond to leadership requests for data and analysis, identifying appropriate sources and stakeholders., • Track and enhance visibility into expertise, matters, and capabilities to support strategic positioning. Talent, Integration, and Practice Health • Partner with Legal Talent and leadership on recruiting, onboarding, integration, retention, and development initiatives., • Stay attuned to team engagement and performance, surfacing risks and opportunities that impact morale and effectiveness., • Support staffing and work allocation to align resources with workload, development goals, and business needs., • Maintain and enhance tools that provide visibility into skills, experience, and capability gaps across the practice. Qualifications • 7+ years of relevant experience (practice management, legal operations, talent, or business development), preferably in a law firm or professional services environment., • Proven ability to build credibility with senior stakeholders through strong judgment, discretion, and relationship management., • High emotional intelligence with the ability to influence without formal authority., • Strong analytical skills; able to translate complex data into clear, actionable insights., • Excellent project management and organizational skills; able to manage competing priorities, move work forward through others, and drive execution in a fast-paced environment., • Comfortable with ambiguity; able to connect dots and balance strategy with execution., • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including synthesizing information into clear summaries and recommendations., • Proficient in Microsoft Office (especially Excel and PowerPoint) and comfortable with reporting systems., • Real estate industry exposure or interest preferred., • Bachelor’s degree required. The salary range for this position is $140,000 to $170,000 annually, depending on qualifications and experience.
