Job Description Chief Information & Technology Officer • Salary Range: $183,375 - $305,625 based on relevant years of experience, • Location: Fort Collins, CO, • Status: 40 Hours a week, • Hours: Monday - Friday The salary range for this position is SummitStone’s good faith belief and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation for this position at the time of the posting. Role Overview: Responsible for providing executive leadership and governance over all technology, information, and digital capabilities supporting a complex, highly regulated behavioral health organization. The Chief Information & Technology Officer (CITO) shapes a forward-looking technology vision and partners closely with clinical, operational, and administrative leaders to translate that vision into measurable outcomes that strengthen care delivery, workforce effectiveness, decision-making, financial stewardship, and organizational resilience. The CITO is accountable for the strategy, roadmap, performance, security, and optimization of enterprise clinical, business, and workforce platforms, including EHR (EPIC), financial systems (e.g., Sage), analytics and business intelligence (e.g., Power BI), human capital systems (e.g., ADP), infrastructure, cybersecurity, privacy, and digital innovation. This role also provides executive oversight for the responsible evaluation, governance, and adoption of artificial intelligence (AI) and automation technologies, ensuring ethical use, patient safety, data protection, and compliance with applicable regulatory requirements, including HIPAA and 42 CFR Part 2. Essential Duties: • Lead enterprise technology strategy and governance by developing and executing an enterprise-wide technology and information strategy aligned with organizational mission, clinical quality, access, workforce effectiveness, financial stewardship, and regulatory compliance., • Provide executive oversight and platform governance by owning the lifecycle, integration, optimization, and long-term sustainability of all core enterprise systems, including EHR, financial, analytics/BI, HRIS, infrastructure, and digital platforms., • Ensure technology effectively supports 24/7 clinical operations, inpatient and outpatient services, crisis care, and community-based programs through reliable, secure, and user-centered system design and delivery., • Advance enterprise decision-making by establishing and overseeing analytics and business intelligence capabilities that deliver accurate, timely, and actionable insights across clinical, financial, workforce, and operational domains., • Direct cybersecurity, privacy, and data protection strategies by ensuring compliance with HIPAA,42 CFR Part 2, and applicable regulations, and overseeing incident response, disaster recovery and business continuity planning., • Provide executive governance for artificial intelligence and digital innovation by evaluating, adopting, and overseeing responsible use of AI and automation technologies that align with patient safety, ethical standards, and organizational priorities., • Provide executive leadership for the Information Governance framework by overseeing enterprise data standards, definitions, data quality, integrity reviews, and policy compliance; support and direct the Information Governance Committee, ensure development and maintenance of the Business Glossary and related IG policies, and promote consistent, accessible, and trusted information across all systems and domains., • Manage operating and capital technology budgets by setting disciplined investment priorities, monitoring total cost of ownership, and aligning technology spend with strategic and financial goals., • Lead enterprise vendor and partner strategy by overseeing selection, contracting, performance management, and compliance for technology and digital service providers., • Build and lead high-performing technology, information systems, and business intelligence teams by establishing clear service models, accountability, professional development, and succession planning. Drive enterprise change and adoption by partnering with executive leadership, clinical leaders, operations, PCL/HR, finance, and compliance to ensure shared ownership of technology-enabled outcomes., • Perform other duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications: • Bachelor’s degree in health administration, Information Systems, Computer Science, Healthcare Informatics, Business Analytics, or related field required., • More than 10 years of senior leadership experience in healthcare or other highly regulated environments, with accountability for enterprise systems supporting clinical/service delivery, financial operations, and workforce management., • Demonstrated experience partnering with executive leadership on technology strategy, investment, governance, and risk., • Experience supporting clinical operations, financial systems, workforce platforms, and regulated data environments strongly preferred., • Experience working with EPIC EHR or similar enterprise healthcare information systems, including exposure to clinical workflows, data use, and operational impacts; direct experience supporting or overseeing EPIC environments preferred., • Experience in the behavioral health field preferred., • Equivalent combination of education and experience may be evaluated and considered., • Valid Colorado driver’s license or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire and a clean driving record required.
