Job DescriptionJob Title: Soldering Technician Job Description This role focuses on the refurbishment, testing, and repair of consumer electronics and network equipment, including modems, streaming devices, Spectrum equipment, and GoPro products. You will diagnose failures at the component level, perform precision soldering on printed circuit boards (PCBs), and ensure that all repaired units meet strict quality standards before returning to customers. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on electronics work, detailed troubleshooting, and working in a structured, production-oriented environment. Responsibilities • Troubleshoot and diagnose electronic equipment at the component level, identifying root causes of failures on circuit boards and within devices., • Perform soldering and rework on printed circuit boards (PCBs), including both through-hole and surface mount components., • Read and interpret electronic schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation to guide repairs and troubleshooting activities., • Disassemble electronic devices such as modems, streaming devices, and other consumer or network equipment in order to access and repair internal components., • Replace defective board-level components, including capacitors, diodes, grounds, and other electronic parts, using appropriate tools and techniques., • Conduct functional testing on repaired units to verify that all features operate correctly and that products meet established quality standards., • Document repair findings, parts used, and test results, and accurately record information in tracking and failure analysis systems., • Follow detailed written work instructions, standard operating procedures, and quality guidelines to ensure consistent and repeatable repair processes., • Support high-volume refurbishment operations by maintaining productivity and throughput in a fast-paced production environment., • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe personal workstation, ensuring tools, equipment, and materials are properly handled and stored., • Use soldering irons, hot air rework stations, and other electronic repair tools to perform precise soldering, desoldering, and component replacement., • Diagnose and disassemble units as part of triage, determining whether devices are repairable and identifying the required repair steps., • Work under minimal supervision as a self-starter, managing daily tasks and priorities while meeting production and quality expectations., • Collaborate with a small, experienced repair team by sharing knowledge, supporting peers, and contributing to continuous improvement efforts.Essential Skills, • Minimum of 6 months of hands-on soldering experience., • Proven experience performing soldering on printed circuit boards (PCBs)., • Ability to troubleshoot electronic equipment and circuit boards at the component level., • Demonstrated experience reading and interpreting electronic schematics and technical diagrams., • Proficiency with through-hole and/or surface mount (SMT) soldering techniques., • Comfort using soldering irons, hot air stations, and other electronic rework tools., • Ability to read and follow written instructions in English., • Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality repair work., • Coachable attitude with a willingness to learn and adopt feedback., • Quality-first mindset with a focus on precision and accuracy in all repair tasks., • Self-starter who can work with minimal supervision while maintaining productivity., • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, production-oriented environment.Additional Skills & Qualifications, • Experience repairing consumer electronics such as streaming devices, cameras, or similar products., • Background in repairing network equipment, including modems and broadband-related devices., • Previous experience as a computer or electronics technician in a technical service environment., • Familiarity with hot soldering tools and advanced rework equipment., • Ability to read, understand, and process detailed instructions in English., • Technical certification or an associate degree in Electronics Technology or a related field., • Experience working in structured technical environments or service organizations., • Humble, team-oriented mindset with a strong focus on collaboration and continuous improvement.Why Work Here? Work Environment You work in a climate-controlled facility that remains comfortable throughout the year, supporting consistent focus and attention to detail. Each technician has a dedicated personal workstation equipped with the tools and equipment needed to perform high-quality electronic repairs, eliminating the need to rotate between stations or assembly lines. The production environment is clean, organized, and brightly lit, with workstations designed specifically for detailed soldering, troubleshooting, and inspection of electronic components and PCBs. You become part of a small, close-knit repair team of approximately nine technicians, with plans to grow to around fifteen as business continues to expand, creating a collaborative atmosphere where experienced team members share knowledge and provide ongoing support. The culture emphasizes quality over speed, valuing precision, craftsmanship, and thoroughness in every repair. The schedule typically runs Monday through Friday from 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM, offering a consistent daytime shift. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Charlotte, NC. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $22.00/hr.
