Job Description New York State Homes and Community Renewal (HCR) is the State’s affordable housing agency, with a mission to build, preserve, and protect affordable housing and increase homeownership throughout New York State. The Office of Resilient Homes and Communities (RHC) was created in 2022 and assumed the portfolio of the Governor’s Office of Storm Recovery’s (GOSR) portfolio of disaster recovery projects. GOSR had been established as a temporary agency in 2013 to coordinate statewide recovery efforts for Superstorm Sandy, Hurricane Irene, and Tropical Storm Lee. GOSR administered approximately $4.4 billion in flexible funding made available by the U.S. Department of Housing & Urban Development. RHC now serves as the lead principal office responsible for the administration of New York State’s climate change adaptation and storm recovery initiatives. POSITION SUMMARY RHC’s Resilient & Ready Programs includes the Rapid Response Program, which makes emergency repairs to damaged homes following qualified storm events, and the Resilient Retrofits Program, which fortifies flood prone homes in advance of a storm event. Both programs are available to low- to moderate-income homeowners and administered through a network of local non-profit housing organizations and local units of government. The Program Manager’s primary responsibility will be to manage the day-to-day operations of these two programs. Additional job duties may include assisting RHC leadership in research and strategy for other RHC programs, current and prospective. The Program Manager will report to the Deputy Director of RHC. Job Description THE ORGANIZATION The Center for Justice Innovation is a nonprofit organization dedicated to advancing community safety and racial justice. EDI seeks to hire a team of Navigators, which will operate in Housing Courts in Brooklyn, the Bronx, Queens, and Manhattan. Reporting to the Project Manager, the Housing Court Navigator provides frontline, direct services to tenants facing eviction or displacement, including public housing residents, housing voucher holders, and other low-income tenants. The Navigator supports daily EDI operations in Housing Court by conducting intakes, providing individualized case management, coordinating referrals, and collaborating closely with court staff, attorneys, and service providers to support housing stability and court compliance. Current Opening: The Political Director shall be a member of the New Jersey Senior Leadership Team, and will be responsible for managing a department that includes 501(c4) electoral canvass capacity, as well as 501(c3) organizing around policy and legislative goals, and communications to press, elected officials, allies, members and coalition partners. The Political Director shall work directly with the Executive Director and Political Directors from allied labor, community and advocacy organizations to build power for Make the Road New Jersey, and New Jersey’s progressive advocacy community.
