Job Description JOB SUMMARY: The HR People Operations Coordinator serves as the primary point of contact for employee and manager inquiries related to HR, payroll, and benefits. This role plays a key part in supporting day-to-day HR operations, ensuring accurate recordkeeping, smooth onboarding/offboarding processes, and compliance with company policies and labor regulations. The coordinator will manage HR system transactions, provide excellent internal customer service, and assist with union-related HR functions. Key Responsibilities: • Serve as the first point of contact for HR-related questions via email, phone, and in-person interactions., • Process HR transactions in systems such as Workday and Cisive with accuracy and timeliness., • Coordinate onboarding and offboarding activities, including I-9 verification and E-Verify processing., • Maintain and update employee records, ensuring compliance with documentation standards., • Support employees with benefits, timekeeping, and HR system access issues., • Review and approve personal information changes and ensure HR data integrity., • Keep HR policies, procedures, and internal portal content current., • Escalate complex HR or system issues to the appropriate HR teams for resolution., • Provide administrative support for union-related HR tasks, including job postings, bidding, contract compliance, and orientations., • Enter union pay step increases and other updates into Workday., • Assist with union benefit inquiries and contract-related issues., • Support HR audits, compliance reviews, investigations, and special projects as assigned., • Submit IT and system access requests as needed., • Track employee attendance issues such as call-outs and late arrivals., • Associate’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, or a related field (bachelor’s degree preferred)., • Minimum of 3 years of experience in HR support or administration., • Working knowledge of HR practices and labor laws (preferred)., • Strong communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills., • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team setting., • High attention to detail and discretion when handling confidential information., • Proficiency in HR systems such as Workday; familiarity with Cisive is a plus.
