About the Role We are seeking a NYS certified Math Teacher in an Integrated Co-Teaching (ICT) classroom, supporting students in developing conceptual understanding, procedural fluency, and mathematical reasoning aligned to Regents and Common Core standards. This educator will partner closely with general education teachers, content teams and families to ensure all learners can access rigorous math instruction and build confidence as problem-solvers. What Youll Do Deliver Inclusive, Rigorous Math Instruction • Co-plan, co-teach, and co-assess in inclusive math classrooms aligned to NYS standards and Regents expectations, • Differentiate instruction and provide appropriate scaffolds to ensure students with IEPs can access rigorous grade-level content, • Design engaging lessons that build conceptual understanding, procedural fluency, and real-world application, • Use modeling, guided practice, small-group instruction, and inquiry-based strategies to support diverse learning needs, • Analyze student data and assessment trends to refine instruction and accelerate student growth Build Mathematical Reasoning and Student Confidence • Support students in solving complex, multi-step problems and communicating mathematical reasoning clearly, • Strengthen students ability to justify thinking verbally, visually, and in writing, • Build student confidence, independence, and perseverance in mathematics, • Prepare students for Regents-aligned assessments while fostering deep understanding of mathematical concepts and problem-solving strategies Partner to Support Student Success • Collaborate closely with co-teachers, related service providers, counselors, and families to support students academic and social-emotional growth, • Contribute meaningfully to IEP implementation, progress monitoring, and student support planning, • Build strong relationships with students rooted in consistency, encouragement, high expectations, and care Contribute to a Collaborative Adult Culture • Engage actively in feedback, coaching, and professional learning, • Collaborate with colleagues to improve practice and student outcomes, • Contribute to a culture of reflection, curiosity, and continuous improvement, • Help create classrooms and a school community rooted in belonging, safety, and high expectations Who Thrives Here You may be a strong fit if you are: • A relationship-centered educator with unwavering belief in students, • A reflective practitioner who seeks and uses feedback, • A collaborator who enjoys co-planning and shared problem-solving, • A teacher who balances structure, compassion, and rigor, • Someone energized by building and improving, not just inheriting finished systems, • Committed to educational equity and serving diverse learners in NYC public schools, • Someone who is willing to adapt high quality instructional materials (HQIM) to meet the needs of your students. QUALIFICATIONS Required: • New York State Students with Disabilities Teaching Certification required, or active pathway toward certification, • Bachelors degree required Strongly Preferred: • Masters degree in Special Education or related field, • 3+ years of teaching experience, ideally in New York City schools or urban public/charter settings, • Experience supporting adolescents with IEPs in inclusion settings, • Familiarity with Regents-aligned instruction, Common Core standards, and NYC special education systems (including SESIS), • Experience using assessment data to inform instruction and intervention Compensation & Benefits This is a full-time position with a salary range of $68,902 $95,000 (based on certification level and experience). Innovation teachers certified in New York State receive a highly competitive compensation package. Uncertified teachers receive competitive compensation with increases upon certification.
