Job Description We are looking for an Early Head Start Mental Health Consultant who believes in taking positive steps to impact a child's life and those who know the importance of enhancing their emotional development and mental health. This position is responsible for supporting the social emotional growth of children (6 weeks - 3 years old) in Early Head Start Programs through observation, planning with parents and caretakers, and training. This position is part time with an average of 15 hours a week, typical schedule is 8:00am - 1:00pm, but must be flexible in order to meet the needs of our clients. Specific responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, the following: • Conduct child and/or classroom observations to inform creation of consultation plans., • Develop and maintain cooperative and positive working partnerships with children, parents, staff and other professionals., • Develop and provide trainings to families and Early Head Start staff requested by funding agency., • Utilize evidence based practice such as Trauma Informed Care, Conscious Discipline, The Pyramid Model and Positive Behavior Support to inform interventions., • Review and interpret assessments such as the DECA and the ASQ-3 and ASQ-SE and share results with parents and caretakers., • Must have a Master's Degree in Social Work, Mental Health Counseling, or Marriage & Family Therapy; and minimum of one (1) year of experience working with children and families providing mental health services. Knowledge of infant mental health preferred; and demonstrated experience in working with early childhood mental health preferred., • Must be Licensed or licensed eligible., • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Proficient in MS Office., • Ability to communicate fluently in Spanish is preferred but not required., • Able to work flexible hours in order to meet the needs of our clients., • Must possess excellent organizational skills and be able to perform in an empowered environment by working collaboratively with other professionals, personnel and direct service providers. Responsibilities • Review and examine purchase order requests submitted by buyers for prospective vendors to ensure compliance with all requirements, while ensuring accuracy and precision, • Coordinate and manage activities during the purchasing process, such as creating purchase orders, monitoring transportation and invoice follow-through, • Maintain detailed level of accuracy while creating and verifying purchase order information including proper product SKU, costing, and shipping instructions, • Issue and close purchase orders when appropriate, • Maintain up to date records daily, • Verify and confirm quantities and types of items received against purchasing orders, invoices and/or freight bills, • Coordinate order status report submissions from suppliers, • Resolve changes and discrepancies, and update purchase order information accordingly, • Routine purchase order review and applicable follow-up, • Liaison with the operations and accounting department to reconcile invoices and purchase orders, • Oversees purchases of office supplies, • Adhere to purchasing policies, processes and procedures, • Perform other duties as assigned Qualifications • Some college preferred, with minimum 1 year of purchasing experience, in in lieu of preferred education level 2 to 3 years of purchasing experience required., • Knowledge of purchasing policies and procedures, • Knowledge of basic accounting principles, • Close attention to detail, • Ability to effectively manage time and multi task, • Strong communicator both within the organization and externally, • Basic working technical knowledge of the goods or services to be purchased, • Microsoft Operating System and Office Applications, including strong Excel skills
