Job Description Job Title: Regulatory Compliance Quality Assurance Manager Job Purpose and Position Overview: Snow & Company is seeking talented and skilled Regulatory Compliance Quality Assurance Manager to join our team! Key Responsibilities: Quality Program Management: • Develop, maintain, and enforce the shipyard Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) Program, • Establish inspection procedures and quality standards for shipbuilding, repair, and retrofit work, • Implement Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs) for vessel construction and repair activities, • Maintain documentation systems that ensure traceability of materials, weld procedures, inspections, and testing, • Ensure compliance with U.S. Coast Guard regulations, including applicable sections of CFR Subchapters (T, K, M, I, L, etc.) as applicable to vessel class., • Interface with USCG Marine Inspectors, third-party surveyors, and classification societies (ABS, DNV, etc. when applicable)., • Coordinate regulatory inspections, • Oversee and perform inspections, • Ensure all welding complies with approved WPS/PQR procedures and welder qualifications, • Manage and coordinate Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) activities including UT, MT, PT, and RT when required, • Plan, coordinate, and document dock trials and sea trials, • Identify opportunities to improve quality systems, inspection processes, and shipyard standards, • Lead root cause analysis for recurring quality issues, • 7-10+ years of experience in shipbuilding, marine repair, or heavy marine fabrication, • Strong knowledge of U.S. Coast Guard vessel regulations (46 CFR), • Experience working with marine inspectors, surveyors, and regulatory authorities, • Demonstrated experience managing inspection programs, testing, and vessel trials, • Knowledge of marine welding standards and NDT processes, • Experience with marine mechanical, electrical, and structural systems, • Ability to interpret engineering drawings, technical specifications, and regulatory requirements, • Strong documentation, reporting, and organizational skills, • Experience with classification societies (ABS, DNV, Lloyd’s, etc.) The work environment is a dynamic, fast-paced shipyard with moderate to loud noise levels due to ongoing production activities. Job duties are performed in production areas and onboard vessels and require: • The ability to walk to and from job sites, climb inclined stairways, and use vertical ladders, • Frequent bending, squatting, crawling, twisting, standing, walking, sitting, and use of hands/fingers for various tasks, • Occasional reaching, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, and crawling, • Frequent lifting of up to 20 lbs, with occasional lifting of up to 50 lbs, • The ability to work in extreme temperatures and conditions, including areas with limited ventilation, • The ability to enter and work in confined spaces, such as manholes, • The ability to work at heights, • Frequent use of a respirator, • Wearing required safety gear, including a hard hat, gloves, safety glasses, and protective clothing, • $100,000 – $110,000 annually, • Full time, overtime exempt position, • Positive and supportive work environment, • 100% paid medical insurance for employees, 80% for spouses and dependents, • Comprehensive dental insurance, • Vision insurance, • Life insurance options available, • 401(k) retirement plan with up to 5% employer matching, • 9 paid holidays, including the day after the Super Bowl About Snow & Company: Snow & Company is a leading boatbuilding and ship repair company located in the Ballard neighborhood of Seattle.
