Job Description Location: New Jersey (On-site/Hybrid based on business needs) Department: Finance Job Type: Part Time Classification: Non-Exempt Salary: $18 to $20 per hour (based on experience and qualifications) Position Summary We are seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Accounting Clerk to support our Finance team. This role is responsible for performing routine accounting functions, including processing transactions, reconciling accounts, and managing invoices and payments. The ideal candidate ensures financial data is accurate, organized, and up to date, contributing to the company’s financial health and compliance with accounting standards. Key Responsibilities Accounts Payable & Receivable • Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions, • Review, verify, and process vendor invoices, • Match invoices with purchase orders and receiving documentation, • Prepare and process weekly payment runs, • Maintain vendor records and resolve discrepancies, • Generate and distribute customer invoices, • Post customer payments and maintain accurate records, • Monitor accounts for overdue payments, • Follow up on outstanding balances, • Enter financial data into accounting systems, • Reconcile bank statements and resolve discrepancies, • Perform monthly bank and balance sheet reconciliations, • Maintain organized financial records and documentation, • Assist with payroll processing and expense tracking, • Support month-end and year-end closing activities, • Assist with internal and external audits, • High level of accuracy and attention to detail, • Strong organizational and time management skills, • Ability to handle confidential financial information with integrity, • Dependable and accountable with a strong work ethic, • Basic knowledge of accounting principles, • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks), • Strong data entry and math skills, • High school diploma or equivalent required, • 1–3 years of accounting or related experience preferred, • Experience with accounts payable/receivable and general ledger processes, • Internship or prior experience in accounting, finance, or office support is a plus, • Professional office setting with standard office equipment, • Primarily administrative and computer-based work, • May involve repetitive tasks and deadline-driven periods, • Competitive salary, • Opportunities for growth and advancement, • Collaborative and supportive team environment, • Exposure to a wide range of accounting functions
