Position Summary Ethical Culture is seeking experienced classroom teachers who are available on an on-call basis to serve as substitute teachers for grades PreK-5th, as well as enrichment classes in: physical education, science, Spanish, music, ethics, and arts. The ideal candidates will have strong classroom management skills, familiarity with hands-on teaching practices, relevant experience with elementary school students, and the ability to teach multiple subjects. Substitutes are needed for half day, full day, and extended subbing schedules throughout the school year. The rate for a substitute is $25.00 per hour and the hours would be approximately 8am-3:30pm. Job Description About the Role The Passage of Hope Program provides transitional residential care and other supportive services to Unaccompanied Children (UC) who are under legal custody of the Federal Government. Working in collaboration with the Federal Office of Refugee Resettlement (ORR), our program provides a safe and nurturing environment for youth in our Basic Shelter and Transitional and Long Term Foster Care programs located at our licensed residential facilities and foster homes throughout New York City and Westchester County. While in our care we search, assess, and provide connections with family members and/or other potential sponsors in the United States, so they can move forward with their lives and thrive. In all programs, we provide therapeutic and educational services and other supports that youth need to achieve success through an array of strength-based and targeted interventions. POSITION OVERVIEW New York Hall of Science (NYSCI) seeks an experienced Director of Facilities to ensure smooth day to day building operations and service excellence. Reporting to the SVP of Operations, and working dynamically across departments and organizational units, the Director will oversee all aspects of Facilities, Maintenance and Security, providing supervision and mentorship to a team of Building Maintenance, Custodial and Security professionals, create and implement best in class standard operating procedures, and emergency/safety plans, and help to ensure the overall vitality and safety of NYSCI campus and grounds. The Director will be an experienced building operator with a track record in cultural and/or educational institutions, with expertise in management systems, building trades, construction project management, maintenance standards, and security and safety protocols, including Fire Life Safety.
