Accountability: Childcare Director Desired Qualifications: An Associate's Degree in Early Childhood, Child development or other related field; or a CDA plus two (2) years experience working in a child care setting. Staff members must also be mature, of good character and possess suitable personal qualifications. Staff must also be in good physical and mental health and have the energy and emotional stability necessary to fulfill the responsibilities of their position. Responsibilities: • Provide all necessary information as required by the OCFS state regulations including:, • An application and resume including employment history and any relevant child care experience., • 3 references with phone numbers who can verify employment history, character and personal qualifications., • A sworn statement indicating whether or not you have been convicted of a misdemeanor or felony in NYS or anywhere., • A completed NYS Clearance form necessary to determine whether employee is the subject of an indicated report of child abuse and maltreatment., • A statement for a health care provider proving that you are physically fit to provide child care and have no diagnosed psychiatric or emotional disorder, are free from communicable disease, and results from a TB test., • Required fingerprint card completed and sent to the state for criminal history review., • Create daily lesson plans from the weekly theme that includes circle time, art, music, story, language arts, gross motor skills and weekly math, science and cooking lessons., • Leads class in all activities while giving directions and setting examples to teacher aides and volunteers., • Make sure all shifts of staff entering the room are aware of daily happenings going on in the room., • Create a class routine/schedule for children to follow., • Effectively utilize 30 minutes of paid daily planning time., • Keep daily attendance records., • Promote guidelines regarding curriculum found in Developmentally Appropriate practices., • Provide at least 10 minutes of outdoor time to all children daily., • Set examples for appropriate course of discipline., • Complete daily report board about individual child's activities for parents., • Keep daily logs on each child for evaluations and parent/teacher conferences., • Daily cleaning and organization of your room, which includes but not limited to disinfecting toys, cots, furniture, and bathrooms., • Work cooperatively with your team teachers and complete weekly lesson plans., • Report any problems with children, including suspected abuse or maltreatment immediately to the Director., • Establish and maintain daily communication with each child' s parents or caregiver., • Attend and participate in 30 hours of training required every (2) two years of employment., • Maintain strict confidentiality regarding all children and their families attending the Child Care Center., • Work with Director and necessary assistants to meet Accreditation standards and work towards the National Accreditation for Early Childhood Programs,, • Any other responsibilities deemed necessary by the Director.
