Job Description Position Overview The Managing Director of Schools (MDs) is a senior member of the KIPP CAP Regional Leadership responsible for the superior performance of schools in the regional portfolio, directly managing the overall portfolio of schools, principals, and initiatives that impact the education of future graduates. Goals and Milestones The Managing Director of Schools will be responsible for meeting the following ambitious goals. Goals subject to change based on the needs of students and regional priorities: Academics • 70% of students passing the state test in Reading & Math, • 85% of K-2 students at or above benchmark on mCLASS, • 90% Student Retention from Fall to Fall, • 95% Average Daily Attendance Managerial Leadership and Team Development • Manages 3+ School Principals across the Region., • Supervises the Principals in creating and implementing their school plans and priorities and managing schools to region wide benchmark goals., • Develop trusting relationships with the School Principal and consistently receive high quality transformational development that increases their effectiveness and outcomes at their schools., • Provide senior instructional leadership within the region, supporting technical skill building, continuous improvement, and impressive results for schools academically, culturally, and in human capital practices., • Coach and develop principals and SLT members to achieve proficiency on 90% of One KIPP School Leadership Levers., • Collaborates with the Chief Schools Officer, Director of Leadership Development, and the Regional Team to deliver effective professional development to Principals, including planning and delivering effective Professional Development., • Engage in collective learning in service of creating excellent schools, feel a sense of belonging, and are sustained in the work., • Supports the development of Principals in designing and leveraging their secondary leadership teams and establishing an effective operations partnership., • Serves as a thought partner to direct reports as they lead their respective teams; Position Overview Grade(s): 5th/6th – 8th The RTI Specialist is primarily responsible for supporting the instructional program, with specific responsibility for assisting in assessing at-risk students' needs for Response to Intervention (RTI) services, implementing the RTI program strategies, monitoring and reporting student performance, and providing information to appropriate school internal and external stakeholders. Duties/Responsibilities • Collaborates with instructional staff, School Leadership Team, and parents to assist in evaluating needs for and progress of RTI intervention strategies., • Communicate with practice and/or reinforce intervention strategies., • Ensures technical guidance and support for teachers and RTI/SPED teams to effectively use behavioral support models (PBSIS) and tools (functional behavior assessment, positive behavioral supports, and behavior intervention plans)., • Supports teachers in measuring and documenting student progress and monitors the school's implementation of the Response to Intervention (RTI) model to increase student achievement., • Utilizes understanding how to select and analyze data related to individual students, groups of students, and classrooms to impact achievement and behavior positively., • Works collaboratively with SPED Data Teams to facilitate eligibility for special education when needed., • Designing and implementing assessments that measure progress towards academic standards and analyze benchmarking and progress monitoring data., • Offer academic, emotional, and physical support while maintaining high expectations., • Provides appropriate supervision of students during class, breaks, meals, and transitions to maintain an optimal work environment and to ensure students’ safety and well-being., • Create an inclusive and safe environment where students feel empowered to become self-guided learners., • Assist with work inside and outside the classroom, including supporting the main office team, teaching and helping coordinate Enrichment classes, organizing student events, and developing mentoring learning partnerships with students., • Attending and participating in events outside regular school hours (e.g., family nights, student performances, prom, field trips, report card nights, Teacher-Parent Conferences, June and August Family Saturday Orientations, etc.).Be available for open houses, parent-teacher conferences, and other events involving parents., • Adapt and execute a rigorous, standards-aligned curriculum and assess students’ progress., • Teach one or more classes or small groups of students (middle and high school) or one or more subject blocks (elementary school), if applicable., • Support students by providing one-on-one and small group tutoring daily, small group intervention, and student support, with the potential to teach small groups of students., • Meet regularly with a coach and school leadership to implement feedback on lessons and instruction., • Problem-solving and making timely determinations with classroom issues in a solution-focused manner., • Lead advisory/homeroom in the morning and afternoon., • Supervise students during transitions, breakfast, lunch, and after school., • Establish and maintain strong communication lines with all parents, share continuous progress, and be available for open houses, parent-teacher conferences, and other events involving Position Overview The Principal in Residence (PIR) program is a transformative, regionally operated, residency that prepares aspiring Principals in the adaptive, technical, and managerial skills needed to lead a KIPP Capital Region school as a successor. Position Overview The Manager of Talent Acquisition & Attraction is responsible for developing new, innovative, and competitive recruiting strategies, processes, and programs supporting business objectives to attract and acquire a qualified talent pool. Duties and Responsibilities Recruitment & Selection • Manage the full recruitment process, including job postings, sourcing and screening candidates, coordinating all interview logistics, and facilitating Selection Days., • Draft and post engaging job descriptions and social media content to attract qualified candidates., • Design comprehensive, tailored interview materials to ensure alignment with role requirements and enable objective evaluations by Selection Day committees., • Maintain consistent and professional candidate communication throughout the full recruitment lifecycle to ensure a timely, warm, and professional experience., • Collaborate with hiring managers and the Director of Talent Acquisition & Attraction to ensure interview logistics are coordinated and processes are followed consistently., • Support onboarding coordination by preparing materials and ensuring compliance with hiring requirements, including fingerprinting and documentation., • Proactively source candidates through online platforms, networking, referrals, and community partnerships., • Maintain and update candidate databases and talent pools for future hiring needs., • Partner with staff across schools to encourage internal referrals and support the employee referral program., • Support the Director of Talent Acquisition & Attraction in developing and executing talent attraction and recruitment strategies that align with organizational goals., • Assist in implementing employer branding initiatives to strengthen visibility and reputation as an employer of choice., • Help maintain relationships with community partners, colleges, and organizations to build a diverse and qualified talent pipeline., • Stay informed on current recruitment trends and share recommendations to enhance the region’s hiring efforts., • Track and report on recruitment metrics to support reporting initiatives such as time-to-hire, applicant flow, and source of hire., • Maintain accurate data in applicant tracking and ATS systems to ensure consistency and reliability., • Prepare reports and dashboards for the Director and HR team to support data driven decision making., • Work closely with the Director of Talent Acquisition & Attraction and the HR Team to coordinate priorities and ensure smooth communication with hiring managers., • Maintain positive and professional relationships with internal stakeholders, including hiring managers and School Leaders., • Provide consistent updates on recruitment status and candidate pipelines., • Collaborate with Communications and Operations teams to align messaging, materials, and logistics for recruitment efforts., • Support efforts to strengthen staff engagement and retention by maintaining positive relationships with current employees., • Assist with the Intent to Return (ITR) process, including data tracking, communication, and follow up., • Assist with the Intent to Return (ITR) process by updating the talent map throughout the school year, tracking data, communicating with stakeholders, following up with employees, ensuring key information is shared appropriately, and maintaining confidentiality throughout the process., • Help collect and organize feedback from onboarding, exit, and engagement surveys to inform improvement plans., • Perform other duties outlined by the Director of Talent Attraction & Acquisition and Chief People Officer (CPO)., • Committed to furthering anti-racism, equity, and racial justice in all our efforts, and expect all our stakeholders to participate in this work so that we can create a future without limits for our students together., • Complies with all charter, federal, state, and local laws and regulations, including the NYS Department of Education, Department of Health, and NYS Office of Children and Family Services., • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited College or University is required.
