Arena Staffing has partnered with a confidential, well-established company in the Greater San Diego area that is hiring a Technical Support Engineer to run day-to-day IT support at its local headquarters. \n \n This is a hands-on, on-site role for someone who enjoys solving real problems for employees, supporting business-critical systems, documenting issues clearly, and coordinating with vendors until tickets are fully resolved. \n \n This is not a remote help desk role. This person will be the in-person face of IT for employees, executives, department leaders, and nearby local sites. \n \n Why this role is worth considering \n\n • Stable, established employer with a strong Southern California presence\n, • High-visibility role working closely with senior technology leadership\n, • Hands-on support role with more variety than a standard help desk position\n, • Exposure to endpoint support, business applications, vendor coordination, documentation, and process improvement\n, • Opportunity to support users across multiple departments and local sites\n, • Culture that values ownership, follow-through, curiosity, and clear communication\n, • Opportunity to use documentation, online resources, and AI tools to learn unfamiliar systems quickly\n\n \n Role snapshot \n\n • Title: Technical Support Engineer\n, • Location: Greater San Diego Area\n, • Schedule: Full-time, on-site 5 days per week\n, • Travel: Occasional local travel, approximately 10-15% as needed\n, • Reports to: Chief Technology Officer\n, • Role type: Individual contributor\n, • Compensation: $105,000-$125,000 base, with potential stretch based on experience\n, • Pre-employment: Background check and standard pre-employment requirements\n\n \n What you will do \n\n • Run day-to-day IT support for the company’s local headquarters\n, • Support nearby business locations remotely and occasionally in person\n, • Handle walk-up support, endpoint issues, ticketing, business application support, and escalations\n, • Troubleshoot hardware, software, access, connectivity, printers, peripherals, and conference-room technology\n, • Support Windows and macOS users in a mixed-device environment\n, • Coordinate with managed service providers, vendors, and application support partners\n, • Keep users, leadership, and outside partners updated until issues are resolved\n, • Build and maintain documentation, runbooks, escalation paths, user guides, and knowledge base content\n, • Partner with HR on onboarding, offboarding, device readiness, and access changes\n, • Support limited after-hours needs for urgent business interruptions or system outages\n, • Business application support: This role will also support business-critical systems used across multiple departments.\n\n \n You will help with: \n • Front-end support for internal business applications \n • ERP, e-commerce, SaaS, or database-backed application issues \n • Order, sync, workflow, configuration, access, or data-related troubleshooting \n • Identifying whether an issue is isolated or widespread \n • Escalating deeper technical issues with clear screenshots, reproduction steps, priority, and business impact \n • Learning low-code/no-code tools and internal workflows using documentation, online resources, and AI tools \n \n What you need to bring \n\n • 5 to 8 years of hands-on IT support, desktop support, or IT operations experience\n, • Experience supporting users in a multi-site environment\n, • Strong Windows and macOS support experience\n, • Experience with ticketing systems, endpoint support, remote support, asset tracking, and IT documentation\n, • Experience troubleshooting hardware, peripherals, printers, conference-room systems, connectivity, and user access issues\n, • Experience supporting business applications such as ERP, e-commerce, SaaS, or similar platforms\n, • Experience with cloud productivity tools, SSO, MFA, identity/access provisioning, directory services, DNS, DHCP, group policy, and access control\n, • Ability to coordinate with MSPs, vendors, application partners, and internal stakeholders through resolution\n, • Strong communication skills with the ability to explain technical issues clearly to non-technical users and executives\n, • Calm, resourceful, organized, curious, and able to manage multiple priorities at once\n\n \n Nice to have \n\n • Experience in a regulated, audit-driven, manufacturing, operational, or compliance-focused environment\n, • Experience with software validation, controlled access, change documentation, or audit-ready IT records\n, • Experience working with an MSP-backed or multi-vendor technology environment\n, • PowerShell, Bash, Python, light scripting, automation, or low-code/no-code experience\n, • Experience using AI tools to improve troubleshooting, documentation, workflows, or knowledge base content\n, • CompTIA A+, Network+, ITIL, cloud, identity, endpoint, or related certifications\n\n \n Interview process \n\n • Round 1: Virtual interview with senior technology leadership\n, • Round 2 / Final: Interview with executive leadership\n\n \n Compliance statement \n Arena Staffing and our client are equal opportunity employers.
