Job DescriptionDescription: The Child and Family Wellness Center (TCFWC) and Unlimited Behavioral Health Services (UBHS) provide culturally responsive, community-based behavioral health services to children, youth, and families across Massachusetts. Services include In-Home Therapy (IHT), Therapeutic Mentoring (TM), Therapeutic Training & Support (TT&S), and outpatient counseling. Our work is grounded in strengths-based, youth-centered, and family-focused approaches aligned with CBHI principles and designed to support youth functioning across home, school, and community settings. TCFWC and UBHS are in search of Therapeutic Mentors as Independent Contractors to provide structured, relationship-based mentoring services to youth experiencing social, emotional, behavioral, or functional challenges in the Springfield, MA area. Therapeutic Mentoring services focus on: • Skill-building and pro-social development, • Emotional regulation and coping strategies, • Confidence, self-esteem, and decision-making Individualized Youth Mentoring & Skill Development • Provide one-to-one mentoring services focused on life skills, coping strategies, and pro-social behaviors., • Support youth in developing emotional awareness, self-regulation, communication, and problem-solving skills., • Collaborate with caregivers to reinforce skills and strategies introduced during mentoring sessions., • Support improved consistency, communication, and expectations between youth and caregivers., • Support youth participation in positive recreational, educational, and community-based activities., • Assist youth in building confidence, healthy routines, and positive peer relationships., • Encourage engagement in activities that promote independence and social development., • Participate in intake calls and initial engagement activities as required for service initiation., • Collaborate with clinicians, supervisors, and other service providers to align mentoring goals with the overall treatment plan., • In accordance with CBHI requirements and applicable payer, regulatory, and ethical standards, all mentors are required to participate in supervision, consultation, training, and case review activities.Requirements:, • Must be based in the Springfield, MA area or able to travel there on a regular basis., • High School Diploma or GED required., • Experience working with youth and families in supportive, mentoring, or skill-building roles., • Strong communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills., • Cultural sensitivity and commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion., • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with families and professionals., • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation., • Basic computer skills and comfort with electronic documentation systems., • Bachelor’s degree in human services, psychology, education, or a related field OR at least two years of experience working with children or youth., • Previous experience as a Therapeutic Mentor, youth worker, or in community-based human services., • Community connections that support youth engagement and service delivery., • Lived or personal experience that enhances relatability and engagement with youth., • Classification: Independent Contractor (1099), • Compensation: $24–$26 per billable service unit, per Contractor Agreement, • Hours: No guarantee of minimum hours or caseload (generally up to 20+ hours per week), • Benefits: Contractors are not eligible for employee benefits
