Job DescriptionPosition Description: PEOPLE USA - Mobile Crisis Social Worker in Glen Falls, NY Summary : People USA provides people living with mental health and/or addiction issues with the highest quality, effective peer services, and behavioral health care. We are a peer-run nonprofit organization. This means our agency is 100% made up of people with their own lived experience with mental health or addiction issues, recovery, and moving towards wellness. Our mission is to educate, support, and empower people to understand, manage, and overcome behavioral health challenges. Under the direction of Executive leadership, the Licensed Social Worker (LMSW) will provide oversight and direct services to individuals experiencing a crisis. Essential Duties: Addresses referrals from community providers, including referrals via warm hand-offsLeads daily huddles at change of shifts.Provide assessments to individuals in crisis.Work in collaboration with community providers, team members, and external partnersCompletes and signs off on required documentation and paperwork implementation in a timely mannerDemonstrates cultural competency and commitment to individuals.Maintains a Trauma-Informed environmentDemonstrates commitment to the philosophy of the agencyActs as an advocate and helps individuals with linkages to supports.Perform crisis intervention and assessments in community based settings.Other duties assignedWorking closely with the Community of Mental Health, community providers and surrounding Police Departments in providing services to individuals who are in crisis, with the goal of intervention, assessment and linkage to help individuals live safely and prevent future crisis. Ideally, the candidate will be flexible and work as part of a cohesive team that provides mobile crisis intervention. The ideal candidate will possess the following: Masters degree in Social Work or Mental Health Counseling required LMSW or LMHC license not required upon hire, but must have ability to obtain license must be obtained within 6 months of hire NYS Drivers license required.
