Job Description Job Summary Stratus is on the move and seeking an experienced Design Technology Manager to lead and advance our firm’s design technology strategy across architecture and engineering disciplines. This pivotal role is critical in aligning our teams around best practices, tools, and standards that enhance collaboration, efficiency, and design excellence. The successful candidate will be a forward-thinking leader who can bridge the gap between design intent and technology applications, ensuring our staff have the training, tools, and guidance needed to thrive. The successful candidate will have strong knowledge of architecture and engineering technology solutions, including a demonstrated ability to successfully lead large change initiatives, extensive experience in the design side of the A/E industry, and a practical understanding of the construction side. Key Responsibilities Technology Leadership & Strategy • Oversee the firmwide vision, roadmap, and implementation of design technology platforms, including CAD, BIM, visualization, and rendering tools, • Evaluate emerging tools and workflows, ensuring alignment with project delivery goals and industry best practices, • Partner with IT, operations, and practice leaders to ensure technology supports business needs and design innovation, • Establish and maintain company-wide design technology standards, including model management, detailing practices, drawing/document templates, and quality control protocols, • Create and manage a centralized knowledge base of design standards and resources for easy access across teams, • Develop and lead training programs, workshops, and mentorship initiatives to elevate staff proficiency with design technology tools, • Act as a trusted resource for project teams, guiding complex modeling, rendering, and documentation challenges, • Serve as a liaison between design staff and technical support (both internal and external) to proactively resolve issues and improve processes, • Work closely with leaders across disciplines to understand project needs and implement solutions that improve workflows, • Foster collaboration across offices and teams, ensuring technology supports seamless communication and project execution, • Facilitates collaboration between architects, engineers, contractors, and consultants using BIM platforms, • Excellent communication skills, verbal and written, • Ability to conduct effective presentations and quickly solve complex problems, • Proficiency in MS Office suite, • The full Autodesk AEC Collection of tools as used for both architecture and multi-discipline engineering, including AutoCAD, Revit, Plant 3D, Civil 3D, ReCap, Forma, Navisworks Manage, Infraworks, and Inventor, • Autodesk BIM Collaborate Pro, Docs, Construction Cloud, • Trimble Sketch-Up, • Bluebeam Revu/Studio, • Laser scanning tools and processing, such as Leica, Faro, Matterport, • Aerial imagery and modeling, • Geomatics, including geospatial, survey, subsurface, and photogrammetry, • Visualization and rendering tools such as Lumion, Enscape, Twinmotion, V-Ray, D5 Render, • Digital twins, reality capture, 4D/5D modeling, and simulation, • A bachelor’s degree in engineering, architecture, or construction science is preferred.
