Job DescriptionDescription: WHO WE ARE For 18 years, A&R Solar has been building solar and storage systems for the long haul. We're an employee-owned, Certified B Corporation operating across Washington and Oregon with a simple belief: do good work with good people, take care of the planet, and treat every customer like they matter. We're not the cheapest option, and we're not some national outfit that disappears after installation. We're the local certified experts you can trust—here for the life of your system, built on relationships that last. Together we power what's next. And we need someone who can help more people discover why A&R is different. THE ROLE We're looking for a Senior Marketing Strategist to own our performance marketing engine and serve as our Marketing Director's right hand. Right now, we're leaning heavily on paid media to hit aggressive lead generation goals—your job is to make that spend work hard while we build brand awareness that will drive more organic leads over time. You'll work directly with our Marketing Director on strategy and collaborate with a solid team: a Content & Web Specialist who knows our customers inside and out, and a Creative & Communications Coordinator who handles design and campaign execution. You'll also collaborate with our Engagement Team who handles lead response and qualification. We meet weekly as a team to align priorities, troubleshoot, and keep campaigns moving. You'll be a core voice in those conversations. This is a strategic leadership role with real autonomy. We trust you to make decisions, run experiments, and bring new ideas without getting stuck in approval cycles. Requirements: WHAT YOU'LL OWN YOUR PRIMARY FOCUS: PERFORMANCE MARKETING & ANALYTICS • Own paid media strategy and execution (Google Ads, Meta, and other channels), • Manage low 100,000s advertising budgets with accountability for ROI and cost per acquisition, • Establish KPIs, build reporting systems, and track attribution across all marketing channels, • Optimize landing pages and conversion funnels, • Troubleshoot technical tracking (CallRail, Google Analytics, CRM integrations) What Success Looks Like: Our team goal is 5,000+ qualified leads annually across residential, service, and commercial. These come from multiple sources—paid ads, organic traffic, referrals, orphaned customer campaigns, and more. You're optimizing the paid media engine that drives a significant portion of this, not personally generating all of them yourself. You'll work with the Marketing Director on strategy and with the team on execution. STRATEGIC CAMPAIGN WORK • Partner with Marketing Director on quarterly planning and campaign strategy, • Coordinate campaigns across channels (orphaned customers, seasonal promotions, new service launches), • Work cross-functionally with Sales, Operations, and Executive Leadership to understand business goals and measure campaign impact, • Provide strategic direction and campaign priorities to the content and creative team WHAT'S ALREADY BUILT VS. WHAT YOU'LL SHAPE Already in place: • Salesforce CRM, CallRail tracking, • Active Google Ads and Meta campaigns, • Landing pages and email marketing platform, • Basic analytics infrastructure You'll improve and build: • Better attribution modeling and reporting systems, • More sophisticated campaign strategies, • Processes for testing and optimization, • Deeper integration across platforms You'll have room to: • Experiment with new channels and tactics, • Test approaches you know work, • Bring in tools that will improve performance TEAM COLLABORATION You'll collaborate closely with our Content & Web Specialist and Creative & Communications Coordinator, helping prioritize campaign work and unblock when needed—but you're not managing headcount or doing performance reviews. You're comfortable making decisions and representing marketing when the Director is unavailable, but this isn't a management role—you're a strategic peer who raises the bar through collaboration. WHO YOU ARE YOU HAVE THE EXPERIENCE: • 5-8+ years in digital marketing with a strong track record in performance marketing and analytics, • Deep expertise in Google Ads, Meta advertising, and other paid channels—you've managed campaigns, optimized for performance, and proven you can drive results, • Strong analytical skills—you can dig into data, find insights, and communicate them clearly to stakeholders, • Experience managing significant advertising budgets (ideally low 100,000s annually), • Must be comfortable troubleshooting complex tracking implementations, debugging tag managers, and working with IT to solve integration issues, • Comfortable with tracking implementation, marketing automation, and CRM integration, • Excellent at prioritizing and managing multiple projects, • Experience working cross-functionally and influencing without direct authority MAYBE YOU'VE BEEN: • A Digital Marketing Manager ready to step into a more strategic role, • A Performance Marketing Specialist who's been running campaigns and is ready to own the full strategy, • A Marketing Analyst or data-focused marketer ready to combine analytics with execution, • Someone who's been the #2 and is ready to be the strategic lead on performance marketing YOU HAVE THE MINDSET: • Challenge Accepted: You're energized by aggressive goals and constantly learning new approaches, • Be Genuine: You're transparent about what's working and what's not—no sugar-coating, no BS, • Own It: When you see a problem, you fix it or flag it. You don't wait to be told what to do, • Enjoy the Ride, Together: You build people up, celebrate wins, and stay positive through the tough moments, • Leave it Better: You care about doing work that matters—helping homeowners go solar is good for the planet YOU WANT: • Real autonomy and trust to make decisions, • Room to experiment and test new ideas without bureaucratic approval cycles, • A leadership role where you can have strategic impact, not just execute someone else's plan, • To work for a company that actually walks the talk on values (we're employee-owned and a Certified B Corp—this isn't just marketing speak), • To build something sustainable, not just chase quick wins, • A team that will challenge you and support you in equal measure WHY A&R SOLAR? We're employee-owned. That means everyone here has skin in the game. We make decisions for the long term, not the next quarter. We're a Certified B Corporation. We're legally committed to balancing profit with purpose—taking care of our team, our customers, and the planet. We've been doing this for 18 years. We're stable, we're growing, and we're not going anywhere. You won't be job hunting again in a year because we got acquired or went under. You'll work with people who genuinely give a damn. About the work, about each other, about doing the right thing. That's not corporate fluff—it's who we are. You'll have real impact. This is a senior role where your work directly drives business results and shapes our marketing strategy. Your ideas matter here.
