Job Description This position supports the Sport Department’s mission to put into place programs that will identify talented athletes and horses, assist with their development, with the goal of achieving success in international competition. It will also play a strong role in the administration of programs as well as the day-to-day support that the Sport Department provides to the membership. This will include collaborating with various organizations, departments, committees, and communities; ensuring effective communication among stakeholders; administering related programs; and assisting the Directors with accounting and other related activities. Duties and Responsibilities: • Provide support to the Directors and Managing Director of the Jumping Department;, • Provide support for the administration of the Jumping Pathway Programs and Sport Programs led by Directors, • Provide youth Championship support for Pony Jumpers, North American Youth Championship (NAYC), Junior Jumper Championships and Talent Search Finals including distributing invitations, verifying certificates of capability and minimum eligibility requirements, entries, coordinating rider bags and other duties associated with the championship administration, • Serve as point of contact for award orders, • Management of championship clothing orders, distribution, and tracking, • Support youth Championship administration as required including onsite support, • Provide support by pulling results and faults for applicant athletes and horses, • Provide support to the staff, contractors, athletes, etc. for competition logistics (accreditation, accommodations, etc.), • Work with Directors to ensure information on website is clear, accurate, and current, • Assist with the development of the Marketing USA Jumping Newsletters, • Support Jumping specific projects, • Answers telephone calls, responds to inquiries, provides information, takes messages, and refers calls when appropriate, • Provides general clerical, logistical, and secretarial assistance, • Exceptional member service is provided, and member relationships are enhanced, • Communication with members and staff is effective and professional, • Relationships with other staff are productive and promote a positive team environment, • Assistance is provided to other department members when needed Required, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: • Must be proficient in MS Office programs such as Excel, Word, and Outlook., • Must have excellent attention to detail and an excellent sense of planning and organization., • Must have the ability to collaborate and communicate effectively amongst both internal and external groups., • Must have a high level of integrity and discretion, • Prioritize and maintain a high level of performance in stressful situations, and within changing environments, • Extended hours of availability including evenings and weekends. Education and Experience: • High School diploma or equivalent preferred., • Some college preferred., • One year of office/clerical experience required. Bachelor’s degree may substitute for experience requirement., • A working knowledge of equestrian sport, especially the FEI disciplines, is preferred. Physical Requirements: • Occasional travel may be required., • Extended hours of availability, including evenings and weekends., • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer., • Must be able to lift up to 10 pounds and occasional lifting and/or moving up to 25 pounds.
