Overview The P&C Underwriter will be responsible for evaluating, selecting, and pricing insurance risks for property and casualty lines of business. This role requires a strong understanding of underwriting principles, market trends, and the ability to build and maintain relationships with agents, brokers, and carriers. How you'll make an impact * Risk Assessment and Underwriting: • Evaluate new and renewal submissions for property and casualty risks., • Analyze risk exposures, loss history, and other relevant data to determine appropriate coverage and pricing., • Make sound underwriting decisions within assigned authority levels. Policy Development and Pricing: • Develop tailored insurance solutions that meet client needs while maintaining profitability., • Collaborate with brokers and agents to negotiate terms, conditions, and pricing. Relationship Management: • Build and maintain strong relationships with retail agents, brokers, and carrier partners., • Provide exceptional customer service by responding to inquiries and resolving issues promptly. Market Knowledge: • Stay informed about industry trends, market conditions, and regulatory changes., • Identify opportunities for growth and expansion within assigned territories or lines of business. Collaboration and Teamwork: • Work closely with internal teams, including brokers and account managers, to deliver comprehensive solutions., • Share insights and expertise to support team goals and objectives. Compliance and Documentation: • Ensure all underwriting activities comply with company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements. Required: Bachelor's degree and 2 years related experience required. Working knowledge of Microsoft Windows applications and Microsoft Office. The base salary range represents the anticipated low end and high end of the range for this position. The actual compensation will be influenced by a wide range of factors including, but not limited to previous experience, education, pay market/geography, complexity or scope, specialized skill set, lines of business/practice area, supply/demand, and scheduled hours.
