This role ensures accurate inventory management, timely receiving of materials, efficient storage and distribution, and alignment with production schedules. The position plays a critical role in minimizing downtime, maintaining material accuracy, and supporting lean manufacturing practices. ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: • Manage daily warehouse activities including material storage, picking, staging, and distribution to production lines, • Optimize warehouse layout to support efficient material flow for modular construction processes, • Maintain organized, clean, and safe warehouse conditions (5S standards), • Oversee cycle counts and physical inventories to ensure high inventory accuracy, • Ensure compliance with MXS safety and company policies for all assigned employees, • Supervise receiving operations including unloading, inspection, verification, and system entry of incoming goods, • Ensure materials meet quality and quantity specifications before release to inventory or production, • Coordinate with procurement and vendors to resolve discrepancies, shortages, or damaged goods, • Establish and maintain efficient dock scheduling and receiving processes, • Maintain accurate inventory levels of raw materials, components, and prefabricated assemblies, • Implement and enforce inventory control procedures to ensure materials are properly issued, transferred, and tracked within the warehouse, • Monitor and report inventory metrics such as shortages and excess stock, • Collaborate with purchasing and production planning to align inventory with build schedules, • Ensure timely delivery of materials to production lines to prevent delays, • Coordinate staging of materials for modular unit assembly, • Partner with production supervisors to anticipate material needs and resolve shortages quickly, • Supervise, train, and develop warehouse and receiving personnel, • Assign workloads, monitor performance, and enforce accountability, • Promote a culture of safety, teamwork, and continuous improvement, • Enforce company safety policies and OSHA standards, • Conduct regular safety audits and address hazards promptly, • Ensure proper handling and storage of materials, including large structural components, • Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, reduce waste, and streamline material handling, • Implement lean practices and continuous improvement initiatives, • Utilize ERP/WMS (Sage) systems to enhance tracking and reporting, • Establish and enforce standard work across warehouse processes to drive consistency and scalability, • Drive accountability for receiving accuracy and turnaround time to support production schedules, • Own root cause analysis and corrective actions for inventory discrepancies and material variances, • Proactively align warehouse priorities with production needs to support throughput and minimize downtime, • Lead with a hands-on leadership approach, setting expectations and driving team performance, • Maintain accountability for safety performance and incident reduction within the warehouse Education:High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelors degree preferred WORK ENVIRONMENT: While performing the duties of this job, the employee sometimes works near moving mechanical parts and is occasionally exposed to excessive noise, extreme heat, extreme cold, and heights. When participating in activities on the shop floor, the noise level in the work environment is typical for a fabrication shop and ear plugs may be used as necessary.
