Job Description We are seeking a detail-oriented and skilled CAD Designer/Drafter to join our marine manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will create accurate 2D and 3D models, technical drawings, and documentation to support production processes. This role requires strong collaboration with engineers and production teams to ensure designs are optimized for manufacturability, cost efficiency, and quality standards. Responsibilities: • Develop detailed 2D and 3D CAD models for components, assemblies, and tooling, • Prepare technical drawings, BOMs, and specifications for manufacturing, • Collaborate with production teams to ensure designs meet functional and manufacturing requirements, • Create CAM programs for CNC machining, including toolpath generation, simulation, and optimization for efficiency and accuracy, • Support CNC programming, fixture design, and troubleshooting during production, • Maintain accurate design files and revision histories, • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance design efficiency and reduce costs, • Participate in product testing and engineering improvements, • Participate in robotic cell development, • Participate in patent development, • Prefer Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Technology, or related field, will accept equivalent experience in lieu of degree, • Proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, CATIA, Creo), • Experience with CAM software (Mastercam, Fusion 360, or similar) for CNC programming and toolpath generation, • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes (casting, machining, welding, sheet metal, injection molding), • Knowledge of GD&T and ISO/ASME standards, • Entry-level: Internship or coursework in CAD and manufacturing, • Mid-level: 2–5 years in a manufacturing design environment, • Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving skills, • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities, • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines, • CSWP (Certified SolidWorks Professional) (a plus), • AutoDesk Certified Professional (a plus), • Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma certification (a plus), • Machining skills (a plus)
