Job Description: As an RGT Community Outreach Specialist, you are the face and voice of Risen Generation Transportation. Your main responsibility is to connect with families, schools, churches, and community centers to promote safe, reliable, and affordable transportation services. You will engage with the public directly through street outreach, tabling events, flyer distribution, and school visits (with permission), helping parents and organizations learn about our rideshare services for school, summer camps, after-school programs, and more. Key Responsibilities: Actively promote RGT transportation services in public spaces like malls, parks, libraries, and community events. Distribute flyers, speak with potential clients, and gather contact information for follow-up. Explain service options clearly (weekly and monthly prices, safety standards, school eligibility, etc.). Represent RGT with professionalism, warmth, and care for family needs. Maintain a daily or weekly log of contacts, interested leads, and sign-ups. Help families complete registration or refer them to the office or enrollment team. Report outreach progress and feedback to the program director. Support marketing campaigns (in-person or online) as needed. Qualifications: Friendly, approachable, and confident communicator. Passionate about helping families and children get safe transportation. Experience in outreach, sales, customer service, or promotions preferred. Must be dependable and able to work independently outdoors or at events. Bilingual speakers are a plus (Spanish, French, or others). Compensation: Paid weekly or on commission depending on program. Location: NYC-based (approximately 90% in-person, 10% remote). This is not a culinary role—we're looking for someone who loves food, enjoys working with students, and brings high energy, creativity, and flexibility to educational settings. The ideal candidate has a background in education, experience working directly with youth (grades K–12), and a genuine enthusiasm for food, cooking, health, and community well-being. Light cooking and food prep skills are helpful, and while a background in hospitality is a plus, it’s not required. About the Role We are seeking a highly organized, mission-driven individual to join our team for a short-term contract supporting Malikah’s self-defense programming, events, and partnerships. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to safety and empowerment work in immigrant a Muslim-majority communities, and to develop key skills in nonprofit event planning, partnership cultivation, and grassroots organizing. Key Responsibilities Coordinate and support the planning and execution of 15-20 self-defense trainings and flagship, brand visibility events reaching 200 people during four months in Inwood and Washington Heights. Cultivate and pitch new partnership and brand collaboration opportunities. Assist in maintaining and growing relationships with current and prospective community partners. Support with outreach, scheduling, and logistics for self-defense workshops and public events. Attend community events to represent Malikah and support in-person coordination. Assist with data tracking, documentation, and reporting related to events and partnerships. Be open to receiving additional training in Malikah’s signature self-defense methodology. Provide administrative and communications support as needed related to programs and events. Preferred Qualifications Experience in martial arts, self-defense instruction, or related fields (strongly preferred). Arabic and/or Spanish speaking (preferred). Experience working with Muslim-majority, SWANA (South West Asian and North African), immigrant, and/or Black and Brown communities. Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail and timelines. Strong written and verbal communication skills.
