Job Description Hiring a Physician Assistant – Plastic and Cosmetic Surgery Job Description This full-time Physician Assistant role supports a well-established private plastic and cosmetic surgery practice that offers a comprehensive range of surgical and non-surgical aesthetic procedures, including cosmetic and reconstructive surgery, injectables, and office-based treatments. Working closely with a Plastic Surgeon and a collaborative clinical team, the Physician Assistant provides high-quality care across the entire surgical and aesthetic care continuum, from pre-operative evaluation through post-operative follow-up and non-surgical aesthetic treatments. This position is ideal for a Physician Assistant who is passionate about cosmetic and plastic surgery and is looking to grow within a patient-focused, modern outpatient practice with access to a private operating facility. Responsibilities • Assist the Plastic Surgeon during surgical procedures in both office-based and hospital-affiliated settings., • Conduct comprehensive pre-operative assessments, including detailed medical histories and physical examinations., • Manage post-operative care, including follow-up visits, wound care, recovery monitoring, and patient education., • Perform office-based minor procedures such as suture removal and other minor interventions within scope of practice., • Document all patient encounters, procedures, and care plans clearly and accurately in the electronic medical record (EMR)., • Administer neuromodulators and dermal fillers in accordance with scope of practice, training, and established protocols., • Assist with or independently perform non-surgical cosmetic treatments as appropriate and as trained., • Educate patients on treatment plans, expected outcomes, recovery timelines, and skincare regimens to support optimal results., • Provide high-touch, patient-centered care with a strong emphasis on patient experience, safety, and clinical outcomes., • Coordinate effectively with clinical and administrative staff to ensure smooth patient flow and a seamless care experience., • Adhere to infection control guidelines, safety protocols, and all applicable regulatory standards in every clinical setting., • Current Physician Assistant license with authorization to practice as a PA., • Active New York State Physician Assistant license., • Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program., • NCCPA certification., • Strong knowledge of medical terminology and clinical documentation standards., • Ability to perform pre-operative assessments, assist in surgery, and manage post-operative care., • Competence in using medical records software and electronic medical records (EMR) systems., • Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with patients, surgeons, and staff., • Strong organizational skills to manage multiple patients, procedures, and tasks in a busy practice., • Prior experience in plastic surgery, cosmetic surgery, dermatology, or aesthetics is strongly preferred., • Experience administering neuromodulators and dermal fillers or a strong interest in developing this skill set., • Exposure to operating room environments and familiarity with surgical workflows., • Experience in plastic or cosmetic surgery settings, including both surgical and non-surgical procedures., • Ability to provide patient education on aesthetic procedures, recovery expectations, and skincare., • Comfort working in a fast-paced, detail-oriented outpatient surgical and aesthetic practice., • Strong interpersonal skills and a patient-centered approach to care. This is an onsite, full-time position based in a modern outpatient plastic and cosmetic surgery practice. The schedule is Monday through Friday, totaling approximately 40 hours per week. Start times vary depending on surgery days and may begin as early as 7:30 a.m. or as late as 8:00 a.m. The practice offers a contemporary clinical environment with access to a private operating facility, office-based procedure rooms, and electronic medical record systems. The setting is high-end and patient-focused, with a strong emphasis on personalized service, safety, and aesthetic outcomes. The Physician Assistant works closely with the Plastic Surgeon and a multidisciplinary team, using medical records software and standard surgical and aesthetic equipment. Professional attire appropriate for a high-end private practice is expected. Job Type & Location This is a Permanent position based out of Scarsdale, NY.
