Job Description Job Title: Welder / Fabricator Job Description As a Welder, you will perform MIG, TIG, and/or Arc welding techniques during the assembly process of diversified metal assemblies according to customer drawing specifications and work order instructions. Responsibilities • Perform MIG, TIG, and/or Arc welding techniques for fabrications., • Ensure weld operations are performed in accordance with established specifications, including production work orders and drawings., • Conduct quality checks and self-inspection using drawings, fixtures, jigs, and measuring tools., • Meet pre-established objectives independently or as part of a team, with limited supervision., • Maintain safety while handling parts and operating equipment to prevent damage., • Participate in new product introductions and suggest new approaches for production and quality improvement., • Maintain workplace cleanliness and order., • Perform routine maintenance of welding machines as per maintenance procedure manuals., • Ensure the workplace is safe and free from dangerous obstacles. Essential Skills • 2+ years' experience in MIG/TIG welding., • Experience in welding heavy steel and stainless steel., • Proficiency in new build welds and repair welds., • Blueprint reading skills., • Experience with TIG, Flux core, and FCAW welding. Additional Skills & Qualifications • High school diploma or GED., • Manual dexterity., • Troubleshooting skills., • Ability to work independently and as part of a team., • Ability to adapt easily to various changes in situations. Work Environment This position operates in a manufacturing setting with exposure to heavy equipment, machinery, and associated noise levels. You will primarily work in a standing position for up to six hours per day, with occasional sitting required for short periods. You must be capable of lifting up to 50 lbs. in an ergonomic position. The shift runs from 2:30 pm to 11:00 pm, with a shift differential provided upon conversion to a direct employee. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Binghamton, NY. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $25.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
