Job DescriptionDescriptionOverview New York Public Library is hiring Tutor Floats for the NYPL After School program, which provides free, drop-in homework help and enrichment activities for school-age children across NYPL locations in Manhattan, the Bronx, and Staten Island. The 2025-2026 program year for NYPL After School will run from September 29, 2025 to June 18, 2026. Floating Tutors will work 16 hours per week, Monday-Thursday afternoons, with four hour shifts scheduled between approximately 2:00-7:00 PM. Some additional hours will be required for staff meetings and professional development. Prior to the program’s launch, all Tutors will attend training workshops during the weeks of September 15 and September 22, 2025. Floating Tutors will not work during scheduled program breaks, including holiday closures and days when NYC Schools are not in session, as well as over the summer. Floating Tutors will serve as flexible, floating staff for NYPL After School, with regular travel to program locations across Manhattan to provide essential coverage in the absence of regularly assigned staff. At each location where they are assigned, Tutor Floats will work in the public library to implement NYPL After School, engaging children ages 6-12 in group format academic support and enrichment activities during the busy after school hours. Job Description About the Role Support Residential Director by overseeing all program, clinical and therapeutic services for the Runaway and Homeless Youth department which includes crisis shelters and Transitional Independent Living Programs. To ensure all daily living needs and essential treatment services are provided to youth. In conjunction with Human Resources, select, interview and hire direct care workers for the unit. Provide specific program-related orientation for new employees and provide ongoing program training as needed. 2. With Program Manager, monitor progress of staff through performance evaluations. Job Description Who We Are The High Line is both a nonprofit organization and a public park on Manhattan’s West Side, built on a historic elevated rail line. It’s more than just a park— it is a world-famous dynamic public space. Friends of the High Line (FHL), the nonprofit that cares for the park, also runs youth programs designed to support future leaders in Arts & Culture, Civic Engagement, Horticulture, and Park & Visitor Experience. About the Program The High Line Fellows: Emerging Leaders Program is a three-year, paid youth development program (sophomore through senior year of high school). You’ll earn $18/hour while also building leadership and life skills, learning about careers, and preparing for college and beyond. We aim to make the High Line Fellows Program the best first job that a teen can have! The program has four tracks, we call them pathways, that you can explore: Arts & Culture, Civic Engagement, Horticulture, and Park & Visitor Experience. As a new Fellow to the program, you will select two pathways to explore and dive deeper into your interests and new topics. You can switch your pathways in Year 2 and explore new interests! The Center’s Gender and Family Justice team is seeking a Bilingual Facilitator to facilitate classes that address intimate partner and family violence. The Bilingual Facilitator will teach primarily in the Tactics and Choices class, which facilitates classes for those arrested for Intimate Partner Violence (IPV) charges and who are participating in the Supervised Release Program. Participants are either mandated or encouraged to voluntarily attend this class as part of their supervised release program. The class offers participants an overview of basic principles of power and control dynamics and uses an interactive format to introduce strategies for making healthy choices in intimate relationships. The Bilingual Facilitator will provide this class as part of a larger IPV supervised release track, with the goal of increasing compliance with court mandates and return to court. The Bilingual Facilitator will also train in other IPV and domestic violence groups and classes as the team seeks to expand programming. The Bilingual Facilitator will primarily teach online but will is also required to teach classes in person throughout New York City's five boroughs as the program expands. The class will be offered in several separate groups: Spanish-speaking, male, female, and LGBTQ+ defendants utilizing different curricula. Classes are offered in other languages with an interpreter on an as-needed basis. The Director - Arts and Organizing is a key leadership position responsible for overseeing the strategic direction, development, and day-to-day management of BroSiss Liberation Program and ASTEP. Job Description After-school Program Director at PS X089 or PS X096 - COMPASS Elementary COMPASS Elementary Program Director The Program Director is responsible for the oversight of an elementary school-based afterschool program. The Program Director provides leadership, direction, supervision, and support to program staff to ensure desired program goals and outcomes are met. The Program Director serves as the primary contact between Neighborhood Initiatives Development Corp. (NIDC) and the school Principal and represents NIDC to the whole school community. The Program Director reports to and will work with the assigned Program Supervisor and other team members to create a dynamic after-school program that includes academic enrichment, social/emotional activities, project-based learning, arts, sports, and leadership activities. Duties and Responsibilities, in concert with NIDC Youth Department Staff • Supervise all aspects of a school-based after-school program, • Ensure that the program operates in compliance with all DOH safety and funder regulations and meets all contractual obligations, specifically in the area of enrollment and rate of participation, • Report all incident and accident reports to all relevant parties promptly and submit all documentation in a timely fashion., • Participate in incident review processes, • Plan program activities and schedules for afterschool programs, holidays, and summer camp, • Manage daily operations and coordinate with the school’s administration, teachers, secretaries, and custodial staff, • Organize program logistics, such as schedules, lesson plan collection, snack and space reservations, trips, supply requests, and programmatic needs, • Build relationships with the school principal and administrative team to facilitate seamless integration of the afterschool program into the overall school culture, • Build and maintain positive relationships with all stakeholders (participants, parents, school staff and administration, funders, and the community working collaboratively with other NIDC departments), • Learn and maintain all databases and other systems required by NIDC and funders, • Maintain accurate and up-to-date attendance data and meet deadlines for data entry into databases, • Assist in the interviewing, managing, training, and coaching of program staff and volunteers and documenting these efforts, • Conduct classroom observations; assess and evaluate staff on a consistent basis and address concerns as they arise, • Maintain accurate time and attendance records for all staff, current staff and student files, incident and accident reports, and other required documentation and student data, • Review lesson plans weekly; support the development of curriculum maps and activity plans, • Ensure program content supports initiative goals and outcomes, • Participate in school leadership committees and PTA meetings, • Participate in other organizational development processes, workshops, and trainings including developing new programmatic initiatives, • Work closely with families, parents, and guardians to ensure the needs of students are met, • Create a strong sense of community that values respect, acceptance, and high expectations, • A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree related to elementary education or youth development, • A minimum of four years of relevant experience working with children in an educational, or SACC-licensed setting is preferred, • At least two years experience supervising staff and managing programs is preferred, • Strong leadership, conflict-resolution, and diplomacy skills, • Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, ability to prioritize, meet deadlines and multitask in a fast-paced environment, • Capacity to work independently and collaboratively, • Strong verbal and written communication skills, • Computer proficiency including Microsoft Office Suite, email correspondence, and database management is required, • Familiarity with NY State Standards, including OCFS and DOH regulations, • Must be available to work Monday through Friday, between the hours of 10:00 am and 6:00 pm A current physical exam and TB test are required for all Program Directors.
