American Traveler is seeking a travel nurse RN Oncology for a travel nursing job in Duarte, California. Job Description & Requirements • Specialty: Oncology, • Discipline: RN, • Start Date: 05/19/2026, • Duration: 13 weeks, • 40 hours per week, • Shift: 8 hours, days, • Employment Type: Travel Assignment Overview • Shift: Days, 5x8hrs, • Hours: 40 hrs/wk, • Start Date: May 19, 2026, • Length: 13 weeks, • Outpatient Radiation Oncology clinic setting, • Patient population includes head and neck, breast, GYN, lung, GI, neuro, transplant, prostate, and urologic oncology cases across adolescent, adult, and geriatric age groups, • 12-room clinic with 2 procedure rooms; operates as a care team model rather than assigned patient ratios, • No float, call, or weekend requirements, • Day shift, 5x8 schedule (8:30 AM – 5:00 PM), • Uses Epic, Pyxis, Aria, and SBAR for documentation and communicationRequirements, • Active RN license (license required if applicable), • Current BLS required; ACLS required, • Chemo (Cemo) and OCN certifications preferred, • Minimum 2 years of RN experience required, • Understanding of high-dose radiation therapy including interstitial, ring tandem, vaginal cylinder, TBI, and pelvic exam procedures, • Experience with head and neck scope management and POC testing, • Ability to recognize and communicate abnormal lab values, • Proficiency in accessing and managing ports, central line blood draws, central line/implanted line care, and PICC line care, • Experience with infusion pump management, IV hydration, IV push narcotic agents, and antibiotic administration, • Familiarity with sepsis protocols, care coordination, isolation precautions/PPE, and telephone triageAdditional Information, • Preferred experience includes outpatient oncology, radiation oncology, and management of radiation therapy side effects, • Preferred oncology specialties include brain, breast, colorectal, ENT, lung, melanoma, ovarian/uterine, pancreatic, and prostate cancers, • Preferred skills include body fluid handling post-chemotherapy, cytotoxic spill management, PCA pump management, colostomy/ileostomy care, Foley catheter insertion/management, telemetry interpretation, tracheostomy care, wound care, radiation safety precautions, TBI, and neuropathy management, • 24 hours of orientation provided, • Caribbean blue scrubs required; scrubs are not provided by the unit With thousands of travel nursing and allied jobs nationwide, our attentive and approachable recruiters find positions that align perfectly with your career aspirations and personal requirements.
