Responsibilities: The Therapeutic Case Planner provides both practical advocacy services and support to domestic violence survivors, their children and the person causing harm (separately). Job Description Motor Assistance Vehicle Technician (MAVT)/ Motor Assistance Vehicle Operator (MAVO) SUMMARY: The Motor Assistance Vehicle Technician/Operator (MAVT/MAVO) is responsible for all aspects of patients’ care within the scope of certification. Essential Job Functions The Motor Assistance Vehicle Technician/Operator (MAVT/MAVO) is an integral part of the Virgo transportation team. In this position the MAVT/MAVO transports ambulatory patients to and from residences and or skilled nursing facilities to medical treatments and or appointments, and then return them. Some of the patients are able to ambulate to our vehicles while other must be moved in their wheelchairs, or are able to move on their electric scooters. No person is to ride the lift while standing, or on the electric scooter. The patients are placed in a wheelchair to go up on the lift, and they are moved inside and secured to the vehicle either on the bench seat or in the wheelchair. Should there be an aide or family member accompanying the patient, they must be secured in the vehicle as well. The MAVT/MAVO must check to see if any belongings or paperwork must accompany the patient for the transport, and then ensure that it gets dropped off with the patient. For each trip the appropriate documentation must be filled out, and where required, obtain the necessary signatures from the patient and /or facility. In the event monies are to be collected at time of service, a receipt is to be filled out and a copy given to the patient, or the person accompanying the patient. The MAVT/MAVO must be capable of good oral communications as for every leg of the trip dispatch must be communicated with, as to alert them to the status of the transport. In addition should any incident occur dispatch must be notified in a timely manner. The vehicle being used for any particular shift must be checked both prior and post usage for mechanical operations, fluids, and general cleanliness. The MAVT/MAVO must be able to utilize maps in order to locate facilities or residences that they are not aware of, with the assistance of dispatch. At the conclusion of the MAVT’s/MAVO's shift they must turn in the appropriate paperwork, and monies collected. Job Description The Crime Victim Assistance Program (CVAP) is a joint program of Safe Horizon and the New York City Police Department (NYPD)that has assigned advocates to every police precinct and Police Service Area (PSA), 86, in total, citywide. Some precincts have two advocates assigned (a crime victim advocate and a domestic violence victim advocate) except for several identified precincts with one advocate. The precincts with one advocate are assigned to work with all victims of crime, including victims of domestic violence. Advocates literally sit side by side with police officers and NYPD civilian personnel and rarely have their own office space. As such, they develop skills where they address the lack of privacy with clients, while navigating a shared space with an outside entity- the NYPD. Advocates are required to report to the precinct/PSA each day for their shift. The Safe Horizon crime victim advocate/domestic violence advocate partners with the police personnel to provide outreach to victims who have filed police reports, or victims who walk into a precinct and seek assistance. The advocate will enter client information into the Case Management System in a timely fashion. The advocate will work with all victims of crime who need help from the NYPD with a specific focus for victims who filed a report as victims of violent felony offense as well as victims of domestic violence who have filed police reports on an as-needed basis. Given the volume in many precincts, advocates will assess high risk and focus on their on-going support for victims identified as such. Job Description The Crime Victim Assistance Program (CVAP) is a joint program of Safe Horizon and the New York City Police Department (NYPD)that has assigned advocates to every police precinct and Police Service Area (PSA), 86, in total, citywide. Some precincts have two advocates assigned (a crime victim advocate and a domestic violence victim advocate) except for several identified precincts with one advocate. The precincts with one advocate are assigned to work with all victims of crime, including victims of domestic violence. Advocates literally sit side by side with police officers and NYPD civilian personnel and rarely have their own office space. As such, they develop skills where they address the lack of privacy with clients, while navigating a shared space with an outside entity- the NYPD. Advocates are required to report to the precinct/PSA each day for their shift. The Safe Horizon crime victim advocate/domestic violence advocate partners with the police personnel to provide outreach to victims who have filed police reports, or victims who walk into a precinct and seek assistance. The advocate will enter client information into the Case Management System in a timely fashion. Documentation and Data Management: Maintains accurate, timely, and compliant documentation following Housing Plus documentation standards, templates, and procedures. Job Description Safe Horizon’s Senior DV Victim Advocate (SVD) works within the SVD of NYPD. The advocate partners with police personnel to provide a coordinated, victim-centered approach to teen and adult victims of sexual assault to reduce trauma and improve the quality of services victims receive. The advocate works with victims, friends, caregivers and family members of sexual assault who are seeking assistance from NYPD within the SVD.
