Job Description Shipping and Receiving Clerk 1st Shift - $17.40hr Job Description The Shipping and Receiving Clerk prepares customer orders for shipment, manages incoming packages, and maintains accurate documentation in the warehouse and computer systems. This role combines hands-on work such as lifting, packaging, and re-boxing with advanced administrative responsibilities including data entry, reporting, and communication with internal teams. The position requires frequent use of SAP and other software tools to ensure that all shipping, receiving, and inventory processes follow established standard operating procedures and customer guidelines. Responsibilities • Prepare orders for shipment by packaging products accurately and securely., • Use computer systems to enter tracking information, generate documentation, and print shipping labels., • Perform shipping and receiving activities in the warehouse, including picking and packing orders., • Open, inspect, and re-box incoming packages in accordance with standard operating procedures and customer guidelines., • Send emails and communicate with the procurement team regarding incoming materials and order status., • Enter all relevant information into SAP and other databases throughout the day to maintain accurate records., • Document order details and inventory movements in the computer system in a timely and precise manner., • Carry out advanced administrative responsibilities, including preparation of more complex reports and presentations., • Analyze data using various software packages and databases to support departmental processes., • Determine methods and procedures used to accomplish assigned tasks within the complete process of the department or division., • Work on feet throughout the day while lifting 2050 pounds regularly and repetitively as needed., • Support reduction of backlog by working overtime and weekends during periods of high volume., • Follow all standard operating procedures, customer requirements, and internal guidelines for shipping, receiving, and documentation., • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area within the warehouse., • Collaborate with team members and other departments to ensure smooth and efficient workflow. Essential Skills • Experience working in a warehouse or shipping and receiving environment., • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds repetitively and 2030 pounds regularly while standing and walking throughout the day., • Strong proficiency using computer systems for data entry, documentation, and label printing., • SAP experience strongly preferred, with the ability to use SAP throughout the workday for order and inventory management., • Ability to prepare, enter, and maintain accurate tracking information and shipping documentation., • Competence in performing advanced administrative tasks, including preparing complex reports and presentations., • Ability to analyze data using various software packages and databases., • Strong attention to detail and accuracy when following standard operating procedures and customer guidelines., • Effective written communication skills for sending emails and documenting information., • Capability to determine and follow appropriate methods and procedures to accomplish tasks., • Willingness and ability to work overtime and weekends for several months when needed. Additional Skills & Qualifications • Previous experience as a shipping and receiving clerk, warehouse associate, or similar role., • Familiarity with standard operating procedures in a warehouse or logistics environment., • Comfort working in a partially climate-controlled warehouse setting., • Ability to manage a high workload during periods of backlog, including working approximately 60+ hours per week in the short term., • Strong organizational skills to handle multiple tasks and maintain orderly documentation., • Ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively with procurement and other internal teams. Work Environment The role is based on site in a partially climate-controlled warehouse environment. You will spend the majority of your time in the warehouse, working on your feet throughout the day and handling packages that weigh between 20 and 50 pounds. The standard schedule runs from 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., with the expectation of overtime and weekend work for approximately 36 months to reduce backlog, resulting in about 60+ hours per week during that period. After the backlog is reduced, the schedule returns to a typical 40-hour work week. You will work with SAP and other computer systems regularly, balancing physical tasks such as packaging and re-boxing with administrative duties and data entry in an on-site, structured warehouse setting. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Grand Prairie, TX. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $17.40 - $17.40/hr.
