Job Description Forklift Operator / Warehouse Associate Location: North Sac Shift: Morning Pay: $20+ Job Description This role is a hands-on warehouse position that combines material handling, shipping and receiving, and forklift operation. You will work as part of a small, friendly team, with a strong emphasis on safety, attention to detail, and collaboration. The position involves frequent movement throughout the warehouse, working with small parts, using RF scanners and computer systems, and performing a variety of tasks beyond operating a forklift. Responsibilities • Perform a wide range of warehouse operations, including loading and unloading trucks, handling incoming and outgoing shipments, and general material handling., • Ship orders via carriers such as UPS, ensuring accurate labeling, documentation, and timely processing., • Receive incoming goods, verify quantities and descriptions, and accurately record information in the warehouse inventory system., • Read, review, and sign bills of lading (BOLs) and other shipping documents with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail., • Inspect pallets and returns for damage or discrepancies, and re-box, re-strap, and prepare them for storage or reshipment as needed., • Operate a sit-down forklift to move pallets and materials safely throughout the warehouse, frequently getting off the forklift to adjust blades, handle smaller items, and complete related tasks on the dock., • Use RF scanners and computer systems to pick orders, track inventory, and manage warehouse transactions., • Perform order picking, packing, and packaging of small parts and other items according to established procedures., • Maintain accurate warehouse inventory by counting, organizing, and storing materials in designated locations., • Support shipping and receiving functions by staging, sorting, and organizing products and materials., • Complete computer-based safety training modules during the initial training period and successfully pass tests after each module., • After safety training, begin working on the floor with a focus on receiving and shipping small parts, as well as general housekeeping tasks., • Participate in forklift training beginning around the fourth week of employment and obtain internal forklift certification., • Follow all safety policies and procedures at all times, including safe forklift operation and proper handling of materials., • Contribute to general labor and housekeeping duties to keep the warehouse clean, organized, and safe., • Work scheduled shifts and be available for required overtime and occasional Saturday work based on business needs., • Ability to work in a fast-paced warehouse environment performing a variety of physical tasks throughout the shift., • Strong attention to detail when handling small parts, reading documents, and using RF scanners and computer systems., • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and communicate clearly with coworkers and supervisors., • Willingness to complete computer-based safety training and pass tests after each module., • Ability to read and understand bills of lading (BOLs) and other shipping and receiving documentation., • Capability to perform loading, unloading, order picking, packing, and general material handling duties., • Reliability and good attendance to support consistent warehouse operations., • Willingness to work required overtime and occasional Saturdays as needed., • Previous forklift experience, including sit-down forklift operation, is welcomed but not required., • Experience with RF scanners and warehouse inventory systems is a plus., • Background in shipping and receiving, order picking, packing, or general warehouse labor is beneficial., • Familiarity with shipping via UPS or similar carriers is an advantage., • Experience handling small parts and working within computer systems to process orders and inventory is helpful. The role offers steady weekday hours with some overtime opportunities, providing both stability and the chance to increase your earnings. Work Environment This is a true warehouse position that involves being on your feet and moving throughout the day rather than sitting or standing in one place or remaining on a forklift for an entire shift. The initial 5–8 days are dedicated to computer-based safety training with tests after each module. After completing safety training, you will begin working on the floor with receiving and shipping small parts, using RF guns and computer systems, and performing general housekeeping. Forklift training begins around the fourth week of employment and leads to internal certification. Training typically runs from 5:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., including two 15-minute breaks and a 30-minute lunch. Regular shift options include 5:00 a.m. – 1:30 p.m. and 9:00 a.m. – 5:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, with approximately 5–6 Saturdays per year and some required overtime based on business needs. The warehouse environment can be cool to cold in the winter and very hot in the summer, so you should be comfortable working in varying temperatures. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Sacramento, CA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $20.70 - $20.70/hr.
