Part-Time Breakfast Cook/Utility - Hospital | Location: Fresno, CA 93720 Compensation: $23 per hour| Part-Time Schedule: Monday-Friday, 5:30am-10am (primarily early mornings) Job Summary Join a team where food truly makes a difference. As a Breakfast Cook/Utility team member in our hospital kitchen, you’ll help prepare nutritious morning meals that support patient recovery while also keeping the kitchen clean, organized, and running smoothly. This hands‑on role is ideal for someone who enjoys variety, takes pride in their work, and wants to contribute to a caring healthcare environment through great food and service. What You’ll Do • Review menus and prepare ingredients needed for breakfast service, • Prepare and cook meals using standard recipes and production sheets to ensure quality, nutrition, and consistency, • Follow dietary guidelines, food safety standards, and sanitation practices at all times, • Meet time deadlines for tray line and cafeteria breakfast service, • Utilize proper food presentation and garnishing techniques, • Follow daily prep, pull, and production schedules, • Safely store food by covering, labeling, and dating items properly, • Load, run, and unload the dish machine; wash and properly store tableware and kitchenware, • Monitor dish machine temperatures to ensure sanitary wash cycles, • Maintain adequate levels of clean dishes, detergents, and cleaning supplies, • Keep kitchen, dishroom, and equipment clean and sanitized, • Bag and remove trash and cardboard at designated times, • Report equipment repairs or maintenance needs to the supervisor, • Assist with training new food service team members as needed, • Follow uniform, safety, and workplace guidelines at all times, • Perform other duties as assigned to support overall kitchen operations What You’ll Bring • State Food Handler Card (required), • ServSafe® Certification (preferred), • Ability to communicate clearly and work well as part of a team, • Positive attitude, reliability, and strong work ethic, • Ability to stand for long periods and perform physical tasks such as lifting, bending, and stooping, • Flexibility to work early mornings, weekends, and holidays as needed, • Ability to pass a criminal background check and drug screen, • High School Diploma or GED preferred, • Authorization to work in the U.S. (E‑Verify used) Physical and Sensory Requirements • This job involves regular exposure to moving mechanical parts and a kitchen environment with fumes, airborne particles, and moderate noise. Employees must have the physical stamina to stand for long periods, lift trays, and perform repetitive tasks.
