Job Description Human Resources & Talent Lead (People & Recruiting Focus) Ernst Brothers Job Summary The HR & Talent Lead is responsible for building, attracting, and supporting an exceptional team at Ernst Brothers. This is a forward-facing, people-first role focused on recruiting, sourcing, and creating energy around our brand as a place where top talent wants to work. This individual serves as the front line of our people strategy. They actively seek out, engage, and bring in high-performing individuals who align with our mission, culture, and growth trajectory. In addition to talent acquisition, this role supports employee experience, onboarding, payroll coordination, compliance, and HR operations to ensure a high-performing, well-supported team. The HR & Talent Lead plays a critical role in shaping the future of Ernst Brothers by ensuring we consistently attract, hire, and retain the best people in the industry. This is a hybrid role with work from home flexibility. Key Performance Indicators * Talent Acquisition: Open roles are filled with high-quality candidates in a timely manner; strong pipeline of talent is consistently maintained * Candidate Experience: Candidates are highly engaged, informed, and excited about joining Ernst Brothers * Employee Experience: Team members feel supported, valued, and connected to the mission and culture * Onboarding Success: New hires are effectively onboarded and integrated into the team with clarity and momentum * Operational Excellence: Payroll, HR systems, and compliance processes are accurate, efficient, and reliable Essential Job Functions & Key Tasks • Lead Recruiting, Sourcing, and Talent Attraction, • Own full-cycle recruiting across field and office roles, • Proactively source candidates through outreach, networking, and industry engagement, • Build and maintain a strong pipeline of qualified candidates for current and future roles, • Partner with leadership to define hiring needs and ideal candidate profiles, • Conduct initial screenings and guide candidates through the hiring process, • Create a compelling, high-touch candidate experience that reflects Ernst Brothers' culture and standards, • Actively promote Ernst Brothers as a premier place to work in the construction industry 2. Create a Best-in-Class Onboarding Experience • Lead onboarding and orientation for all new hires, • Ensure all onboarding documentation and compliance requirements are completed, • Coordinate with leadership to create a smooth transition into each role, • Set clear expectations for new hires and ensure early success, • Continuously improve onboarding processes and materials 3. Support Employee Experience & Culture • Serve as a trusted point of contact for employee questions and support, • Reinforce a positive, high-performance, people-first culture, • Assist managers with coaching, feedback, and employee relations, • Support performance management and development conversations, • Help identify and address team dynamics, engagement, and morale 4. Manage HR Operations & Compliance • Maintain accurate employee records and HRIS data (iSolved), • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws, • Support development and implementation of HR policies and SOPs, • Assist with audits and reporting requirements, • Maintain confidentiality and professionalism in all HR matters 5. Oversee Payroll & Benefits Coordination • Coordinate payroll processing for hourly and salaried employees, • Ensure accurate timekeeping, job coding, and wage calculations, • Administer benefits enrollment and act as liaison with providers, • Support open enrollment and employee education Talent Magnet: Consistently attracts high-quality candidates who are excited about Ernst Brothers and aligned with our culture and standards * People-First Leadership: Employees feel supported, heard, and valued; HR is seen as a trusted partner * Energy & Presence: Visible across the organization and in the market; actively builds relationships and generates excitement about joining the team * Operational Excellence: HR systems, payroll, and compliance are handled accurately and efficiently with no surprises * Culture Builder: Reinforces a culture of accountability, growth, professionalism, and pride in the work * Continuous Improvement: Brings new ideas to improve recruiting, onboarding, and overall employee experience Qualifications • 3–5 years of HR generalist or talent-focused experience, preferably in construction or a related industry, • Proven experience in recruiting, sourcing, and candidate engagement, • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a natural ability to connect with people, • Experience with HRIS systems (iSolved preferred) and payroll processes, • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and follow-through skills, • HR certification (PHR, SHRM-CP, or similar), • Experience working with field teams or multi-location organizations, • Primarily office-based with regular interaction across office and field teams, • High-growth, fast-paced, collaborative environment, • Competitive salary based on experience ($95,000 - $120,000), • Health, dental, and vision insurance, • Paid time off and holidays, • Retirement plan options, • Professional development opportunities
