Job DescriptionGreater Philadelphia Health Action, Inc. (GPHA), a non-profit organization that was founded in 1970, is hiring Full-time Medical Interpreters Monday through Friday, 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM, at multiple locations: • Chinatown Medical Services, 432 N. 6th St. Phila., PA 19123, • Frankford Ave Health Center, 4500 - 4510 Frankford Ave. Phila., PA 19124 Specific Responsibilities and duties include: The Medical Interpreter is responsible for assisting Limited English Proficiency (LEP) clients during medical visits, appointments, and administrative tasks. This involves interpreting accurately and impartially without adding, omitting, or altering any information exchanged between healthcare professionals and the patient. The Medical Interpreter is also responsible assisting LEP clients with communication regarding lab results and appointments, coordinating referrals, performing psychological evaluations, documenting patient encounters, and participating in group health education activities and counseling sessions as needed. It is important for the Medical Interpreter to maintain confidentiality and adhere to professional ethical standards while interpreting.
